It seems to take away everything that DaS2 improved to go back to a clunkier game, and the multiplayer is already confirmed garbage with 4 phantoms vs 1 invader. I'll very likely be buying it after all, but the extra two weeks could give enough insight on whether I should avoid it or not.

If you have a PC, why play DaS on a console? Free game, better framerate, grafix, load times, mod availability, and it's nice to be able to save right before a boss, copy your save to the desktop, and if you die to the boss. Replace the save with the backup so you don't have to waste 14 minutes going all the way to the boss from the last bonfire, which was halfway across the map.
Can't wait for someone to me that's cheating somehow, and that it does anything more than save time and actually hurt me by hindering the ability to grind souls by replaying the section and Recovering. If I'm actively trying to figure out how to beat a boss, I'm not going to spend 15 minutes fighting through the overworld just to get one hit killed by the boss, and then do that two or three more times.

This is a good thread as any to ask, I recently started playing dark soul 1, and I grew very fond of pvp, however I want to finish the game with my current character and make a new one just to pvp.
I know there's a cheat engine hack to edit your stats and soul level but can I edit my save to have some bosses killed? (like artorias and sancturary guardian so I can invade in oolacile township)

It's okay. I made the mistake of buying Dark Souls II. If this is any good, I'll just wait for it's "Scholar of the First Sin" edition to come out. After Dark Souls: Prepare to Die Edition came out on PC in a complete form, I had good will for From, only for them to pull the crap they did with DaS II and it's DLC and two version.
Not falling for that a second time. I paid $40 for Dark Souls II and $15 for the way fucking better upgrade (some people say SotFS is worse; it's not) when it FINALLY got a good discount. Thankfully I never bought the vanilla DLC. Gonna get this shit when the enhanced edition goes on sale to make up for that.

PC has good long term sales. 5 bucks is better than nothing and devs/publishers need that in tough moments or down times between projects/releases. PC is in no way "a bargain bin platform". When I PC games, even though my monitor is big and has a high res, it doesn't matter after a certain distance. 4K is nice, sure, but it's not the end all be all savior as most PC gamers claim. Is it an improvement? Yes. Is it a big improvement that you need to drop your 1080p/1440p and drop some cash on? Fuck no. Where did I say that graphics weren't good to have? What I said was that the most fundamental part of gaming has and will always be gameplay. Does graphics matter? Sure. Sound matters, etc. They aren't completely irrelevant.

That is different. I also have no problem playing Fallout 1/2. Wasteland or Shinobi. But if I want to replay them I will do everything in my power to make them look better than ever without compromising the initial vision. I'll utilize pixel density or whatever to have a better experience than with the hardware at the time.
