>play game as a kid
>never really understand it, give up
>play game as an adult
>actually understand the mechanics, appreciate the level design, gameplay, and progression 100x more

Majoras Mask. Kid me could just not understand this shitty concept of time and why isn't it like ocarnia of time?
I gave it another chance 6 years later and I actually rate it higher than oot, working around the clock was shit for that one 3 day quest which was easy to fuck up but the atmosphere, gameplay and story were really top notch
stand back, thread winner coming in
Adult me wants to slap kid me for not giving this game more of a chance

All final fantasy games really. I don't think I've ever beaten an FF game on my first playthrough

Did you play both for the ultimate adventure
I remember giving up on this after the first three day cycle when I was a lot younger. I had no clue the time songs existed. It became one of my favorites when I finally did beat it in adulthood.

You know younger me really didn't understand this game and adult me didn't either.

This. Liked it as a kid but never got far. Liked it even more as an adult.

This and the GBA one too.
Bought them both and didn't even understand them until a couple of years ago.

Eventually, yes.I wish you'd get the hero dungeon in both games tho
I was a pretty simple minded kid when it came to vidya
if it wasn't a straightforward plaformer or a sandbox that i could fuck around in i wouldn't be interested
>hitting low level enemies for single-digit damage
>get punched out by the first boss
>start a new game 12 years later
>beat it with minimal effort in like two sittings
This game just bombards you with pointless fluff information, like half the mechanics and stats in the game are just red herrings. It's deceptively simple and easy but I didn't realize it as a kid
