I have issues with the new movie, not as much as some people I guess, but keeping Eric Sachs as the Shredder would've helped it flow better. Wouldn't have fixed the turtles not being much of ninjas but...y'know. I'm skeptical about the new movie, but i'll see it. The banter in the first movie was solid, or at least what little there was.

It's a tightly paced adaption of some of the essential Mirage stories, had well done puppetry, especially for what was at the time an indie movie and very low budget, and the fight choreography was solid. The parallels with the father issue with the kid and his dad as well as the turtles and Splinter was good too. Only issue is Donnie isn't really himself, he's just another Mikey. Also, fucking Shredder was fantastic in it.

I heavily disagree, they looked pretty bad in the first one. They were just way too monstrous and Hulk-like, it completely undermined the ninja aspect. Yes, at least live-action. They were planned for the second movie in the original trilogy, but Laird absolutely positively 100% hates Bebop and Rocksteady so the filmmakers could't use them, which is why we were introduced to Tokka and Rahzar.
