It doesn't sound like its being taken, more like being given away. Sony already publishes PC games and they've already mingled with Valve/Steam before (i.e. Portal 2). If anything this is a win/win for both sides: since Xbone is out of the picture, it'd make developing games for PS4 and PC easier, so downgrades won't be that bad as they currently are now.
Dudebros might get the chance to enjoy more games because devs will flock over to develop for PS4 while we finally get to play Bloodborne in its glorious modded beauty.
