It didn't though. The Dreamcast was out in Japan 2.5 years before it was discontinued and when it was discontinued it didn't disappear from the shelves it still sold a couple million at $50. IBM had more or less ditched all their fabs and Intel's gpu technology is positively awful. I'm curious, but not very excited. A few years ago I'd be very against this, but I think I'd rather see Nintendo try and take advantage of smartphone hardware instead of trying to make a profit off of shoddy attempts at modern portables and consoles. They just don't have the supply chain to compete with Apple and Android manufacturers. I feel like they could be the ones to turn touch screens into something just as intuitive as controllers if they spent enough time and energy working on it. Then again, they could surprise me.
