How does leveling effect Cross's stats? Say I wanted to make a high agility Cross (or whatever stat replaced agility). Does Cross have stats that are naturally average across the board with stat customization dependent on gear, or can I choose where stat points go on level-up, or what? I know all the other characters have pre-defined stats, but I'm not sure how that works for a custom character if you wanted to specialize in something.

A huge improvement. The side quests in XCX actually makes you wanna do them because you may know more about the story of the characters and its not only gather something or kill x monster. You will probably do them but keep in mind, if you start a sidequest from a character like Elma or Lyn, then you have to complete it, otherwise you wont be able to progress through the story.

each character has different base stats. cross is more balanced, lyn has the highest base defense. So certain charaters are more suited for a certain class than others. Cross's main draw is being abale to mix and match classes ala Robin from fire emblem.

It's like his entire soundtracks are actually just tie ins that are composed separately from whatever they get attached to like is usually the case with just theme songs, hardly anything ever seems to fit anymore. Usually, it's nice to have dual audio in a game where you're not playing it in its original language, especially since the previous game had it. There are a number of valid reasons why Xenoblade X may not have dual audio, such as not enough disc space or potential licensing issues due to there being so many voice actors.

One thing they NEED to learn to do is make better side quests. I don't mind the game basically being an offline MMORPG, but the most interesting Xenoblade Chronicles' quests ever got was that one with the altar in the marsh in the Ignis fortress.
I know this might get my lynched, but even vanilla World of Warcraft had creative quests, and that was barebones as hell. I'll never forget a quest in the Eastern Plaguelands where, after a long chain of events, you take an ancient artifact to a ghost town and have to take part in a ghost-version of the town's last stand that took place years ago.
The story's good, the combat is good, the level design is amazing. The monster designs are perfect.
All they need is someone who can actually make decent human models and better quest designers.

No lie, this game probably IS most deserving of GotY. Its map is 5x the size of FO4, and it's packed to the brim with content and customization options. It has unique gameplay mechanics, and even FUCKING mechs. The story is also MILES better to MGSV and FO4.
Sadly though, it'll go mostly unnoticed while some overhyped trash game will get the title. Pity.

3's censorship was done by Namco's admission, they even did the same for 1 & 2 which was localized in-house. Derrick and Chugga were even asked about blood and they said there blood here and there in scenes including battles with monsters when you break their parts.

Does anyone have information about the save, if it saves automatically (after each monster killed/quest done/death) or manually?
If it's the latter, can you save anywhere in the map or you have to go back to the base or click on a certain object placed, a crystal for example, on the map to save?
If the character dies, are you teleported to your base and loose a % of your money (combined to the automatic save it would be the worst) or go back to your precedent save state?

I just finished Xenoblade yesterday after having it on my backlog for 3 years. Don't think I'm gonna replay it anytime soon.
The problem is that Takahashi thinks he's an amazing writer when he really isn't. All of his characters are flat, his storylines, when they try to have any deeper meaning, end up terrible, and any meaningful dialogue he tries to put out comes out as hamfisted.
If he were smart he would have just stuck to cheesy Shonen stories like Xenoblade, which he actually pulled off incredibly well. In a shonen you don't have to go crazy with your story, the characters don't have to be complex, and you get to have fun with your dialogue.
Figures that Xenoblade Chronicle's story fell apart whenever it tried to be something more than it was. It also comes as no surprise then that Xenoblade Chronicles X's story is said to be shallow and uninteresting.

Why is the new season of Garo so fucking boring? It's the first time I actually dropped a show I was genuinely looking forward to, but after that Kaguya episode I just couldn't continue. All the MCs are flat, I don't give a fuck about the story and the action and animation are dull and low-budget
Don't get me wrong, season 1 had uni-dimensional characters too, but at least they were endearing (with the exception of Leon until mid-season when he got some much needed character growth), the plot was focused and clear and the fights were entertaining.
