I think it's smart to market DICE and Battlefront towards an audience that really doesn't even know the history of either, and aren't really avid gamers.
That isn't a compliment though. I say that because Battlefields sales went from 13 million in BF3, to 7 million in BF4, to unnanounced for Hardline. And not just that, but BF4 was a piece of shit with DICE telling everyone they can't fix it. And then dev duties get handed over to DICE LA(formerly Danger Close) who fixed the game balance/net code/cache rate in a week, and continue to put out the best maps we've seen since BF2. Which isn't hard to do since DICE's philosophy seems to be centered around chokepoints.
So like I said, it's smart how EA is marketing this. Because they clearly know the old Battlefront/Battlefield fans are not going to give them any money. And the avid Star Wars fans who have an aneurysm seeing Star Destroyers in orbit at Hoth, are not going to buy it.

Enjoy playing the new DLC few a couple of weeks until everyone moves back to the vanilla maps.
Same with BF3 and BF4 you get 16 maps with the season pass (premium.) People play the DLC maps for a few weeks then everyone goes back to the vanilla maps.
Hardly any servers after a few months run the DLC maps and it is hard to find servers running all of the DLC maps and game modes.
There is literally no reason to play battlefront when BF4 is still getting support and is a superior shooter.

I can agree with that but it did enough right keep me really engaged for a while. Two convoys of vehicles meeting on a road or field causing a two hour pitched battle in the open is probably the coolest thing that can regularly happen in an online game. I had so much fun while it lasted. It really is a shame that a new gun takes 25 hours of gameplay to earn and there are lots of small shaky things that really wouldn't be huge to fix.
