How are the vendor buildings supposed to work? I placed a chem and armor stores in a single settlement just to see how things would go, yet nothing seems to happen.

Can someone explain how to power up lights inside buildings in your settlements? I connected a large power generator to a connector on a building I made and that only lit up one ceiling light out of 3. Nothing else is attached the power generator. I can't get the other lights to turn on.

Try a wall with a railing. I could see the attack coming, so I could just dodge it. Or maybe my explosive damage perk + lunchbox mines broke whatever part that does that attack. I died once because I didn't know it was coming, but the second life I passed it without power armor, with food/med buffs, on the hardest difficulty.

Every pylon/conduit has a sphere of power. Any device that requires power (but not a specific number) has to be inside one of the spheres.
Any device that requires a specific number of power has to be wired directly.
Of course being developed by Bethesda, they give you know way to visualize the spheres and you just have to guess their range.
Typically you can just place some pylons/conduits on the roof or outside the walls and it will do the trick.

Once you get the perk that gives melee in vats greater range I mostly use vats for it, and just spam normal attacks while my AP recharges.

This settlement shit costed me a few hours of setback.
I had to build the teleporter shut and went with the minutemen.
I build most of the parts in sanctuary then headed to the hospital to pick up one vital part for the command console.
After I got I headed back to red rocket and built the console thinking I could store it and bring it to sanctuary.
Turns out you cant.
So I had to try and rebuild everything at red rocket only to find out that Sturges refuses to fucking leave sanctuary.

I did this completely by accident but as soon as I realized what I did I just went with it. I ended up kiting her around the castle walls. If you run far enough away, she'll stay in one place. I ran over to the little shack where you meet up with the minutemen and crouched down behind the counter. Settlements are the most clusterfuck enfutiating shit I've ever experienced in gaming to date. It's literally not fun at all for me, yet it seems so fucking game breaking not to use them. I've gone through half the game without realizing I needed to actually connect them via courier or whatever the fuck they called in order to share material and shit, but of course you have to raise your fucking Charisma to do it, which is absolute bullshit.
Also, what the fuck do I do to fill these pieces of shit? I focused on Castle and have like 25 food, 50 water, 80 energy and 40 defense, and this shit still only has like 8 fucking people in the whole damn place. Like what the fuck. I've set up a radio tower and everything, but no one fucking comes, despite me making these faggots a kickass home with 30 fucking beds.

The .44 is a good gun. With the fast reload and gunslinger perks it can match up to any rifle.
Stuff like the Zeta gun and unlimited ammo capacity automatic rifles will blow it out of the water though.
Just go with what you want. The game isn't a challenge at all if you use explosives.

Without going into tedious details, carbon based organic life as we know it requires a constant supply of oxygen to function. Even if you somehow manage to get a person or corpse to sub-zero temperatures without killing their cells via water crystallization (something we still haven't figured out IRL), and even if you somehow managed to replace someones blood with an oxygen-carrying liquid that doesn't freeze at sub-zero temperatures (another thing we haven't figured out IRL), those cells still require constant oxygen, or they die. They require it slower than normal since putting a body on ice slows cellular decay and process down, but it still needs oxygen.
Once that runs out, the cells die. And they die FAST, it takes a human between 20-30 seconds to die when completely deprived of oxygen.

I feel like I shouldn't have to explain this, but the oxygen in your lungs when you take a breath and go under can keep you going for a little while. Usually a few minutes at most, for a trained human with good lung capacity. We are shit at holding our breath underwater. And once that's depleted, it takes a small amount of time for the oxygen your red blood cells are carrying to run out.

The recoil dampening is subtle if you only use one mod. You gotta really slap on the mods to see a major difference, and even then you're not going to turn your .308 rifle into a .22lr, but you are going to be able to fire a shot without your sight picture going into anti-aircraft mode after the first shot.
I modded my pipe rifle with the best stock, a ported barrel, and a compensator and I don't have to drag the scope back to my target from a mile away after firing. It's a huge difference compared to what it was before with just the long barrel, no muzzle attachment, and the shitty entry-level long stock.

The city's official stance is that synths don't exist and there are none in the city and the institute doesn't send them there.
Nick is a synth with half his face missing, exposing robotic parts underneath, with glowing orange eyes. And he has an office right in the centre of the city and everyone knows who he is, and not a single person mentions him until the SHOCKING REVEAL when you rescue him.
