So, what happened between Varrick and Zhu Li's wedding and Korra and Asami going to the Spirit World? Did they kiss? GO on a few dates? Have sex? Confirm they were on the same page?
>>1643981
I have absolutely been enjoying all these threads. Got up on the tail end of the hype train since I didn't want to be spoiled from a /co/ thread or anything.
They knew. Whoever made pic related knew.
You know, with regards to how much development there was, I have some thoughts. I'm not sure that they were really doing this on purpose given there penchant for romance, but the development of korrasami was actually in many ways a very accurate telling of how two people can come to be in their first gay/lesbian relationship. Like often times its a friend with whom you just get closer and closer and only after a while do you both realise that what you feel for eachother is different, often with minimal fireworks. This is exactly how it was with my sister's first girlfriend, they were just increasingly good friends for more than two years before they realised they were mad gay for eachother, and both are still gay many years later.
>tl/dr korrasami good
>>1644000
I was so excited when this happened, I grabbed pic related and was like, "can't wait to go to /u/ and overanalyse the shit out of this." Then... well, you know what happened next.
>>1644004
Same here, I was overjoyed when this scene began. Thought that this would be more than enough to produce awesome fanfics and fanart. Then the actual ending came and I just sat there with completely blown away.
>>1644002
Of course. Trying to frame this in hetero norms is kinda silly.
>>1643994
That's a hugely important detail.
>>1644004
>can't wait to go to /u/ and overanalyse the shit out of this.
>tfw it happened
I didn't know it was possible to feel the color gold. But I felt it. I need to figure out the Korrasami tag for Pixiv so I can just be happy looking at the nip art renditions.
/m/ here, just watched the finale and came here to eat some crow. I may have said, mostly on IRC or in meatspace, that a few Korrasami shippers I knew were delusional or grasping at straws.
Evidently, I was wrong. Congratulations on winning for once; we may have had our differences, but you people deserve a win every once in a while.
>>1644010
Huh? How do "we" ever conflict?
>>1644010
>text friends about it
>lol you just want them to be gay
>they're just friends
I'm glad to have won.
>>1644011
I meant me, personally; not an /m/ versus /u/ thing. part of the reason /m/ is my homeboard is that it gets along with most all the others
>>1644010
I'm an /m/ lurker and I just have to say that though it's design wasn't anything special, the colossus was a goddamn trooper. Holy shit it just wouldn't go down.
>>1643994
It would be interesting to see the pre-tweak ending. It was always clearly going to imply implications, but it might have ended up like the Jet situation in AtLA; he obviously died, but the presentation was so unclear and censored you didn't really feel the effect of it. At least this version of the ending managed to be emotionally satisfying even without a kiss.
>>1644010
That's big of you, /m/ate.
>>1644016
>even without a kiss.
I hate that people insist on that. Based off their interactions throughout the series, I think that caring look they give each other is beautiful. It's a sign of mutual understanding. You don't need to kiss or have sex with someone to love them. It's a display of affection, that's it.
People who insist on the kiss must simply be in denial or think that's the one true way of someone being interested.
>>1644017
Insisting on a kiss is just a nice way of staying in a river in Egypt for as long as they want, even when you get things like Michael posting Korrasami articles on Facebook.
If it was Mako, everyone would be talking about how Makorra won.

Mako.
By ChloƩ of Go Get A Roomie and that Kigo comic.
>>1644026
I like to think he's happy for his exes.
>>1643997
They're just starting out. This is their first date. They might kiss at the end.
>>1644029
>Mako
>happy
He's destined to be the male version of Lin.
>>1644006
Speaking for myself, I'm still too blown away to just sit down calmly and write some fanfic.
Doesn't help that the fanartists are keeping busy.
>>1644009
Can someone please tell me what their tag on Pixiv is.
>>1644035
>I'm still too blown away to just sit down calmly and write some fanfic.
I know that feel.
>>1644015
Someone should have gone to /m/ on Friday and started a thread about thing.
PSA: totes canon.

>>1644045
at this point Bryke could stand on top of the Nickelodeon headquarters with a 20-foot sign reading "THEY'RE LESBIANS" and 20% of /co/ would still be deep in a river in Egypt.
>>1644036
I guess you can go with just Korrasami and click on the tags used in the works it gives you.
>>1644010
>we may have had our differences
Whut? /m/ is /u/'s ally.
>>1644031
I assumed they were going on at least a few weeks' vacation, which isn't necessarily a very good first date.
>>1644032
After Wu gave up the throne for him? No way.
>>1644047
>>1643997
I love this artist.
>>1644049
Speaking as a /m/echanic myself, /m/ is very split on a lot of things. There are some guys on /m/ who really dislike /u/; the board is pretty heterogeneous. The only thing /m/ agrees on is JUSTICE.
>>1642664
I am in doubt, the background clearly resembles the BI pride flag. But not the yellow gateway in the middle, which would be more towards the pansexual pride flag, except that this cannot be since the colors are not nearly bright enough for that.
>>1644032
At least he still has Wu.
> Mako will go down in history as the man who turned the Avatar, the head of Future Industries, and the last Earth King gay
>>1644066
>whether he wanted to or not
So how do you guys read that scene?
I read it as a confirmation of gayness, of course, but I bet the vacation was super awkward for half of it. They probably let go of their hands and blushed, then had fun friend adventures, then finally had one big sweaty tumble after the tension got too high
>>1644070
>both girlfriends prefer each other over him
>wu abdicates to be with him
>ineveraskedforthis.jpg
Poor Mako. He finally grew into a worthwhile guy and this is how things end.
>>1644073
I don't want to say serves him right but it's a tragedy brought onto himself.
Kid got two tries with BOTH Asami and Korra
>>1644072
Instead of all this illustration fanart, which is admittedly nice, I wished some decent artist would do a series of comic pages about their adventures in spirit-land.
>>1644072
This is Avatar, so it would start out awkward, there would be some comic relief from the spirits, and it'd be resolved in under 22 minutes.
>>1644072
I dunno, Korra and Asami seemed really comfortable with each other for the last two seasons. Maybe it'd be more friend adventures with pleasant sexual tension.
>>1644073
You could do a lot worse than a guy who can both control badgermoles and get along with your relatives.
>>1644078
Hopefully we would also get Iroh dropping by with tea and sage advice.
>>1644072
Nah, their comfort with each other seemed too good. They probably kissed right after the end, smiled and then continued going. No need to discuss such "small" things like kissing, pussy eating or tribadism after you've saved the fucking world like 4 fucking times in a row together.
>>1644081
>saved the world 4 times in a row
>implying Amon wasn't completely right
>tfw nonbenders will continue to be oppressed
>>1644082
The same could be said about all the bad guys in korra
>>1644083
>who are Unalaq and Vaatu
>>1644084
Even Korra admitted that he was a better avatar than her
>>1644065
>the bi pride flag
Im willing to give bryke a lot of the benefit of the doubt for making this ship work, and Im happy that it happened. But trying to say things like that just feels like social progressives reaching for anything they can to make it more than it is. We should be happy that Asami won the korrabowl and that they're going to be happily in lesbians with each other in the spirit world for some time. Not needlessly drudging up unnecessary politics with symbolism that isn't there.
>>1644086
Blame tumbleh for that, they're trying to reach with this victory and say its more than just "lesbians finally got together, omg!!" and its a bit infuriating to see it on tumbleh.
>>1644080
Things may be difficult to figure out at first. After all, two locks cannot open each other. But just as the beautiful hibiscus blooms every morning, so too, must you be relentless and steadfast in your coming together. Now is your time avatar,
>>1644090
Tumblr always does that, though; part of the hugbox mentality is the thought that their posts on the Internet actually matter.
>>1644029
Not her best art, but eh.
>>1644092
>the adventures of korra&asami in the spirit world
>wacky fights with spirits and such
>having tea time with Iroh and spirit friends
>asami brushing her leg againt korra's privates under the table
>korra having to excuse her self with a blushed face because she cant control her moans
Just one of those days in the spirit world.
>>1644097
>Iroh knowingly mentions how it must be good to be young
>>1644086
Like it or not, this is a pretty big thing that shows how far American society has come and will likely be remembered in television history. No need to downplay all that just because tumblr is annoying.
Besides, it does kind of look like the bi pride flag. I have no idea if it's intentional, but if it is, I'd see it largely as a puckish joke along with an extra bit of confirmation.
>>1644102
It's kinda missing the lavender in the center so it's probably not intentional and more of the color palette associated with both Asami and Korra.
Speaking of which, Asami's red is deeper than the red on the bi flag.
Mind if I post this here? Sorry for being solo.
Wonder what kind of reaction would there've been if Aang stepped out holding hands with Zuko...
>>1644107
Making fun of the hetfags at this point is just shooting fish in a barrel.
Extremely fat fish.
In a tiny barrel.
With a shotgun.
And the shooter is a waterbender.
>>1644107
>>1644107
>/het/
>not /h/ or /co/
Come on, if you're gonna go all the way at least use a proper board. Altogether it's unneeded, since we're not being real snide about it. We're more surprised than anything.
>>1644106
I'm leaning towards not intentional too, but I'm not surprised some people were reminded of the flag.
>>1644113
>>1644114
Well here's the original image. Go ahead and make your own.
>>1644112
My first thought was, "Why would a waterbender have more skill with a shotgun than any other kind of person? Surely a non-bender would probably know more about weapons than a bender would?"
Then I thought, "Well, the waterbender would be able to manipulate the water to keep the targets still."
But after that came, "Wait they'd have to use their hands to manipulate the water, so they would be able to hold and use the shotgun if the did that."
Followed by, "Unless they could waterbend with their face. But then they'd have to be a Master, not just any old waterbender."
And then I decided I had officially thought too much about this simple joke.
As good as it feels to win, I wish they had been less ambiguous about their relationship.
I know this is a Y7 show in America, but even Canadian daytime tween shows can clearly state that a character is gay.
>>1644127
You should probably ask /d/ that.
>>1644127
The only way and the best way.
>>1644114
/h/ is nice, they are just sluts.
>>1644130
Picky sluts if what /d/ says about them is true.
>>1644132
What does /d/ say about them?
>>1644129
Still taken by the similarities to this old Dofus commission.
>We'll never see a Korrasami version of the first panel.
>>1644140
>>1644139
>be bi
>tfw I'll never understand homos, or straight people
As long as it feels good it should be fine, right? It's like being gay for Solid Snake. Everyone is gay for Solid Snake, but you don't need to be a specific orientation to like him.
>>1644152
>be ace
>the same feel but in the opposite direction
>>1644152
Its ok not to understand. Just no dicks.
>>1644152
Well its more about what people like. Im bi as well but Im attracted to feminine qualities, which is why I like traps with wide hips and fat asses andfeminine dicksFor some people it might be about doing just what feels good but it can get a bit more nuanced on a case to case basis. This goes for straight and homo.
How did Korra come back form the Spirit World pregnant with Asami's child? I don't know, but it could have been...
>>1644155
Can do.
>>1644152
Ugh, stop it with this "love is all sex" nonsense. Orientation is NOT defined by all people as how good sex feels. Not even most, I would wager.
I want a comic or Iroh and Zaheer holding a cake on the other side of the portal that says "Congrats on the ____"
I don't know what to put in the blank. I just want Iroh smiling and Zaheer scowling.

Also, not fucking does not imply not shipping.
>>1644152
That speaks to your own flaws namely your inability to empathize with those who are different from you and a rather childish view of love and sexuality.
But this is off topic so meh.
Kuvira was just too straight for her own good.
>>1644170
That Korra is so cuuuuute!
>>1644171

>>1644170

Anon I said I was sorry. Calm down.
>>1644171
I laughed aloud when that happened. It had to be intentional.
>>1644167
No seriously, why doesn't that say "But that's forbidden love."?
>>1644171
Poor Kuvira, everyone on /co/ seems to have completely forgotten about her since the Korrasami bomb drop.
>>1644179
meguca's english dub translated it as "Girls can't love girls!", so some people have latched on to that.

>a rather childish view of love and sexuality.

>>1644185
>I want to see her re-unite properly with Bataar.
She just tried to kill him tho. Kuvira is power-sexual. She only loves the conquest, the empire uniting, giant mechas, and spirit vines nukes
>>1644177
>>1644181
>>1644185
>I want to see her re-unite properly with Bataar.
Bataar was her tool. She liked him, but I think she had a bigger boner for his mom. Oh and Tonraq.
Yeah, Kuvira should have admitted that she had sex with Korra's dad that one time. That would have probably thrown her off her balance.
>>1644185
>I want to see her re-unite properly with Bataar.
I want her to become cellmates with Zaheer where they keep arguing about their political and philosophical differences while slowly falling in love with each other in a very tsundere way.
>>1644181
I think everybody everywhere has forgotten everything except that Korra and Asami walked off into the Spirit Portal together?
I mean, remember that giant mech that threatened the whole city for like two and a half episodes? I sure don't.
>>1644182
But that's not what the normal reaction image says.
>>1644190
Didn't Bolin deal with that or something?
>>1644190
I vividly remember how they wasted 10 fucking minutes of the episode splashing paint on the glass of the mecha, which ultimately led to nothing at all because it had a built-in cleaning system. Thanks Meelo. Brillian plan.
Someone replaced the music in the finale with the last track in AtLA. It fits fantastically.

>"n-none of your business y-you stupid dictator..."
>>1644194
the paint was a waste of time. It let the beifongs and bolin try and wrap up the feet of the Colossus and try to trip it. That of course failed because Wing and Wei didn't wrap enough wire.

Korra certainly intends to with at least one of them.
>>1644189
I'm still a fan of the idea that Kuvira banged a bunch of female soldiers so she probably gets an overwhelming amount of visitors in jail. Probably would rub it in Zaheer's face.
>>1644209
She is the Avatar. She united benders and non benders by banging the hottest non-bender ever!
>>1644211
Sounds like their love child will be the unification of benders and non-benders.

>>1644300
Is he right? Did korrasami come from the blue, or was there buildup?
>>1644300
You should have seen the season 1 finale.
>>1644308
There's build up, people that bitch about it either are the same people who didn't see Azula's breakdown coming or would be saying it's obviously Makorra if it was that ship.
>>1644300
That's pretty mild though.
Seems to me that half of the complains are that it isn't explicit enough.
Well, it's still more explicit than Akuma no Riddle, I guess.
>>1644301
Then don't fucking say "we". Many manga and anime had canon couples cared/still care about. It's your own fault you didn't like any of them.
>>1644308
If you aren't completely socially inept you can read the hints at the korrasami ending
>>1644308
Well, obviously there is disagreement here so this is just my opinion, but....
I seriously question whether anyone who says that actually watched the show. In the book 3 finale it was pretty much explicit.
>>1644294
>>1644308
There was buildup since season 3.
>>1644311
Well, see, there you are highlighting the difference between two schools of thought on /u/. One would say that if the ONLY thing required to make a full rounded romance plot were a kiss at the end, then in fact you already have a very explicit cannon ship. Others, in my opinion, are a bit too focused on the idea that a kiss makes things official.
It was basically exactly as explicit as AnR, which in my opinion is more than adequate.
>>1644308
I'm not a fan of the writing style, but this person gives a pretty good rundown up to the half-point of season four: http://rcnano13.tumblr.com/post/102741250059/even-after-all-these-years-episode-7-reunion
>>1644308
There was buildup ever since the beginning of Season 3 where Korra and Asami talked about what a terrible boyfriend Mako was and decide to hang out together more often.
It's just that... if one automatically assumes that all fictional characters are straight, it's easy to see the buildup as building up to them just being good friends as opposed to building up to becoming a couple. And so when Korra and Asami do become a couple it seems to come out of the blue because all the buildup towards it didn't register as such.
It's like wearing the opposite of yuri goggles. Het goggles.
>>1644305
>>1644306
Oh come on. There were advertisements for the show plastered all over Tokyo. There were even Oreimo trains and Oreimo nuclear safety badges. NUCLEAR SAFETY BADGES, I tell you.
It was no doujin. I don't know about you, but I never thought Kirino had a chance, considering the publicity the show had.
Imagine if Korra ended with her marrying her dad or something. That's how WTF it was.
>>1644309
I can hardly believe that is real. I mean, I do, but damn.

Wow, the stickies really took something away from it. I wished I could have seen /co/ like this during the LoK finale.

At least remember the board you're on. She'd be marrying Senna, or Lin.
>>1644320
Anyone should have been able to see the romantic subtext in Reunion, though. Even Mako did.
>>1644326
Yeah yeah, either of them.
>>1644328
Iunno Senna is more left field than Lin, since Linorra was something of a ship in season 1. Had like maybe more reason than Korrasami back in s1 but not much.
>>1644321
I see you haven't read enough series to know that incest does happen. Even in yuri.
>>1644329
I prefer Korralin.
And it's a pretty cute ship.
But for some reason the authors seemed to have this weird vendetta against Lin.
Every season she's a part of she has to swallow her pride and beg forgiveness of somebody that SCREWED HER OVER.
First Tenzin, then Suyin, then Toph.
Does that mean Mako will stay single for the rest of his life?
>>1644334
Nah he'll be a bottom for Wu, and you should really ask /co/ that.
>>1644336
>sending him off to /co/ like that
You're just pure evil, aren't you?
>>1644339
Congratulations, everything you said there was wrong.
>>1644339
...Do you remember which board your on?
>>1644339
Was kissxsis your first anime or something?
>>1644339
Holy shit, man... I mean... what the actual fuck...
Just managed to get on since the finale. Does anyone have links to the threads since Asami won the Korrabowl?
>>1644346
Which threads? The /co/ threads? Go into the archive and look for the ridiculously extended threads.
/u/ threads? Just follow the previous links in the OP to the past two/three threads.
>>1644365
>stop it /co/
ftfy
>>1644367
Actually, you're doing the equivalent of marching to /co/ and announcing that all comics are about spandex wearing fascist homosexuals.
No yuri manga or anime made today or the last decade would imply the characters are going through a phase, even if the leads are schoolgirls. On the contrary, they are usually suggested to have a long relationship together. The Japanese yuri fandom loves that stuff. There's also plenty of manga with romantic yuri incest.
Thanks based mods

There are a lot of them, but at the same time the content wasn't much
You could try to find the first sticky where everyone went bonkers once someone posted the ending
I find it more miraculous how many times things could have gone differently:
Asami could have gone evil in Season 1
Mako and Korra could have gotten back together for good in Season 2
There could have been no development for at least the friendship in Season 3 & 4
And finally the ending, where some people in the show claimed they had no idea, meaning it was changed in the last minute
And yet here we are
>>1644126
They almost did twice
>>1644382
It'll be interesting to hear what Bryke have to say once they stop being all coy. Korrasami obviously wasn't planned since the beginning, but could it have been in the cards when they wrote season two?
>>1644382
>each of them standing in front of one beam of the double helix
That strikes me as some kind of symbolism, but the events of the last few days have embedded my goggles into my cornea.
>>1644388
>bryke
>not coy
Maybe I've not followed Avatar closely enough, but arent' they massive trolls
>>1644390
They're both pregnant with the other's babby, but instead of them having HLS to achieve the result in the spirit world. Bryke decided to make them stand in front of the portal with the dna imagery.
>>1644391
I'd imagine they'll eventually say more about the event than just share articles about Korra and Asami's big gay vacation.
>>1644391
So far they are being coy considering the subject matter, but its just that subtlety isn't their strong suit, so at this point, everybody kinda knows the real intention
>>1644401
As expected.
>>1644377
Mods a have been a little touchy as of late. Deleting posts that don't aline with the general attitude on a board may shut down arguments, but it isn't okay if said posts were still discussing the board and thread topics in a non trolling fashion, since that isn't breaking the rules of the board. Hell, I feel like I'm sticking my neck out just to say this, while you're probably going to fine, despite posting a similarly themed post in an opposite light. Have a Korrasami pic to keep this somewhat thread related.
>>1644390
I was gonna say some shit about visual aesthetics but that other guy knocked it out of the park so I'm going with him.
>>1644405
Which other guy?
>>1644404
It just devolves into bickering so quickly and none of us want to read that.
Betrothal necklaces are meant to be uniquely made for the bride, what do you think a betrothal necklace Korra would make for Asami should look like?
>>1644404
I hate to say it but do we really have a choice though? I mean this is one of the only boards that lets us talk and post about western topics and porn.
They could still easily just just "lol fk u m8" and sweep all this shit under the rug.
how do we miss this
>>1644414
when was this?
>>1644414
Isn't that an edit?
>>1644415
looks like book 1
>>1644416
suuuper definitely
>>1644414
l-lewd
>>1644430
the person who makes these edits sure has a strong boob grabbing fetish
I held off on LoK for a long time and finally started it, even though I followed ATLA when it aired. I've put my goggles on full blast for each scene they're in together and I have to say, the subtext is all there and "buildup" is of course subtle. Subtle and sort of gentle; their relationship just has this natural progression to it - even in the finale (which was a big gay explosion) it still kept the subtle character to it.
"Came out of nowhere" isn't accurate. You just need to pay attention to how they interact over the years and it becomes clear that they were steadily falling in love with each other. And it's perfect.
>>1644434
boobs are awesome. I grab mine and my girlfriend's all the time.
>>1644412
People on other boards deal with different opinions without relying on mods to support their arguments all the time. It's seen as a normal thing. The side with the home field advantage always wins anyway.
>>1644435
I felt it only started in the end of Season 2 then starts Season 3, which was directly tied to Season 1
Remember, Season 1 was originally planned as a one-shot
>>1644438
It's more than that, look at what happened earlier when that guy asked about a futa doujin involving Asami and Korra.
I think it had more to do with the guy being intentionally inflammatory since the RWBy threads have loads of arguments that often get resolved without mods.
>>1644442
waiting for the porn of Korra using water bending to make a double dick to get Asami in both holes at once. Then Asami getting Korra back with a Future Industry's vibrating platinum strap on.
