Anywho, sauce on OP? Is it part of a set?

>I think that is one of the more general opinions of Korra. Sure the scene was made out to be "hey are you really the avatar" but when the Airbabies arrive at his place he was all "she didn't look good, I hope she's alright."
Yep. It would have gotten pretty boring if everyone treated Korra like Zaofu did (appropriate respect and deference, but also not willing to be lied to).
Su confirmed for best politician? She effectively made a lifelong friend of the Avatar just by affording her respect and offering instruction Lin could have given a year earlier.
Whoa this new layout reminds me way too much of tumblr.
>>2022372
Surely you mean to say that it's an improvement, Erika-chan?
I can't decide if the new design or the removal of anonymous is the april's fools joke.

Muh heart
>>2022409
Both, I'd say.
Now the site resembles a full-on normie board.
>>2021014
That seems weird. Even for Ty Lee.
Also Azula is probably possessive enough to veto that idea.
Engineer Korra or Avatar Asami?
>>2022414
>Also Azula is probably possessive enough to veto that idea.
Maybe not if she believes Mai is both completely under her thumb and entirely disinterested in their sapphic shenanigans.
>>2022416
Perhaps. However there is also the pragmatic argument that if Mai is tangled up with Ty Lee and Azula, she can't be as effective of a lookout.
>>2022418
> if Mai is tangled up with Ty Lee and Azula, she can't be as effective of a lookout.
Good point.
But you can't deny that Azula would get a power trip out of making the straight as an arrow Mai participate, even briefly, in her trysts with Ty Lee.
>>2022422
Azula strikes me as the sort of person who really wouldn't think about that, despite all her general issues and personality traits that would suggest that she might go for it.
She's very much the partner you have to fight tooth and nail with to get to admit that they love you and don't really care for anyone else. Also probably the sort that bullied their love interest because they couldn't into feelings. Which contrasts nicely with Ty Lee being a tease not only for regular attention but also to try to get the person she actually wanted to act as it's improper to directly approach a royal with romantic feelings.
>>2022423
>Azula strikes me as the sort of person who really wouldn't think about that, despite all her general issues and personality traits that would suggest that she might go for it.
A test of Mai's loyalty to her, maybe.
>>2022423
>Which contrasts nicely with Ty Lee being a tease not only for regular attention
Pic related.
>also to try to get the person she actually wanted to act as it's improper to directly approach a royal with romantic feelings.
Azula would give her tacit permission to approach her, or to at least bring it up alone, during her nightly claims on her possession.
>>2022426
Azula doesn't even consider Mai to possibly be disloyal unless Zuko is being a problem. Which he wouldn't be in this situation as he's basically on the other side of the palace at best. Plus loyalty tests have no place in a situation where detection is paramount.
I do like the whole permission to approach thing. Gives Azula more domme airs that fit her.
>>2022441
>I do like the whole permission to approach thing. Gives Azula more domme airs that fit her.
I wonder how she'd feel about a girl that can overcome her. Katara completely has her number.
If Katara made a move (just go with it), how would she react?
>>2022446
Cackle manically at the chance to kek three of the major shipping fandoms in one go
>>2022446
I'm pretty sure the only time Katara ever beat Azula was during the finale. She doesn't really have much of a chance for most of the show to really take on Azula. And bending is basically the only way to get Azula's respect for Katara as she's a peasant.
>>2022462
That would please me. I never really cared about any of the she shipping in AtLA and outright hated most of it in LoK.
>>2022463
IIRC Katara was much more scared of Ty Lee than Azula. In the finale of Earth, Katara does better against Azula than we'd ever see anyone do before.
>>2022469
>Willie Bush
>>2022469
And Ty Lee is Azula's bitch, so Katara would have to work even harder to impress Azula.
Also you can't be faulted for hating on Avatar shipping. It's kinda a toxic shithole of a fandom when it comes to the shipping.
>>2022472
>Also you can't be faulted for hating on Avatar shipping. It's kinda a toxic shithole of a fandom when it comes to the shipping.
Too often in both series, all that fans seemed to focus on was the shipping. And get really butthurt about it too. I'm glad I missed almost all the AtLA shipping.Sadly, Mako and his shit probably equated to enough shit to make me experience an AtLA shipping war by proxy.
Just testing something. Ignore me.

>On an unrelated note did the Korra comics come out yet?
Nope. Latest news here >>2005340 suggests that Britney Williams is off the project (she cites health and scheduling issues). Dark Horse Comics were asked, and confirmed that they comics are still scheduled for a Fall 2016 release. They've made no mention of a new artist (and didn't announce that Williams was off the comic until asked about it).
The free comic featuring the prequel babby Korra story is out at least in a limited capacity >>2019979
I haven't seen it online yet, though.
>>2023521
I see thank you.
>>2023528
No problem. If I save at least one person from having to go to tumblr to find this out, it's worth it.
>>2023039
I'd love to see a fic of Korra seducing/molesting that cosplayer girl. Korra's personality in early Book 1 seemed suited to a bit of fun narcissism.
>>2023534
Tumblr ain't too bad but then again I'm just there for the art so I haven't seen or take part in the drama that must be putting everyone off.
>>2023563
>Korra's personality in early Book 1 seemed suited to a bit of fun narcissism.
She also showed her own inexperience with what was socially acceptable (goading and later kissing Mako). If Korra tried it on with cosplayer girl, and cosplayer girl was too shy to object (or was into it), Asami may have had an altogether different reaction to her in Book One.
>>2023569
Stick to using it to find art and you should be mostly okay. Start getting involved with what they're writing and beware endless complaints about shipping, muh representation, homophobia etc., etc.
>>2023574
Yeah I figured as much but all the artists seem to be there so I figured I'd use it to get my stuff out there as well as contact some of the artists I like.
But believe me I just plan on using it for art and stuff I don't have the constitution for that level of drama.
>>2023578
It can, on occasion, drum up something hilarious. The feudal lord and handmaiden meme came from that after all.
>>2023578
The text posts aren't all bad (say, http://lokgifsandmusings.tumblr.com/ is a pretty smart person working within the whole social justice idiom), but the bad posts are really bad.
>>2023585
I like her too. But she can veer from perceptive and salient to social justice loony on the flip of a coin. She writes multiple several thousand word essays cleverly deconstructing the series and making very insightful observations one day. The next, she spends all day raging and railing against the term "butthurt" because it's homophobic or ranting that some Pixar character telling herself to "Woman up," is grossly misogynistic.
She also sabotaged her own fic with social justice nonsense.
She's still worth reading, but prepare your eyes to roll.

>>2023605

>>2023615
It's a side-effect of too much smug.
i always see asami as a S and korra as a M.
probably something to do with the fact that korra always was jobbing it 90% of the series while sato was always on top of things.
i also have a fetish of powerfull people getting completly wrecked in the bedroom.
The two faces kind of deal, on for the world and on for the lover.
>>2023602
That's odd as I thought Gogo was your typical feminist fantasy character but whatevs not really something I want to get into.
>>2023719
Pretty much agree with this.
>>2023719
>probably something to do with the fact that korra always was jobbing it 90% of the series while sato was always on top of things.
Really? Until season four, excepting the Unavaatu battle, Korra didn't lose a fight that didn't have extenuating circumstances.
Meanwhile, Asami was fooled by her father, beaten by her father, rescued by Bolin, NTRd by Korra, discarded by Mako, ran her company into the ground, lost her company's stock, got tricked by Varrick, lost her company wholesale, and discarded by Mako again.
The first half of the series is the world shitting on Asami. She got her act together in book three, but she was often completely out of her depth before that.
>>2023563
I'm going to assume that they are doing this in front of Asami, and the cosplayer isn't entirely onboard with it.
>>2023602
I definitely don't agree with everything she says, but I don't think she deserves to be called a loony. I haven't seen her rant about skinny bitches or demand actual physical war on white people with dreadlocks.
>>2023602
>ranting that some Pixar character telling herself to "Woman up," is grossly misogynistic.
I cringed because it was just bad dialogue is what is was.
>>2023753
Funny thing you could say that Korra and Asami being shat on in-universe is actually one thing they have in common in a way. Hell, they even bond over Korra being down over her public opinion.
>>2023822
I don't mean to say she's a loony. But some of her posts are, especially when contrasted with her more sensible ones. On her front page at the moment is a post about how why the phrase "You're not like other girls" is inherently offensive and rooted in a hatred for women.
The selective reasoning needed to reach that conclusion betrays dogmatic thinking at odds with her insightful thoughts on other points.
>>2023845
>I cringed because it was just bad dialogue is what is was.
I only can take it out of context, but it does sound very hamfisted.
>Funny thing you could say that Korra and Asami being shat on in-universe is actually one thing they have in common in a way. Hell, they even bond over Korra being down over her public opinion.
>Funny thing you could say that Korra and Asami being shat on in-universe is actually one thing they have in common in a way. Hell, they even bond over Korra being down over her public opinion.
Good point. Because of the seasonal gap and tone of writing, it's easy to forget that this is only a couple of weeks at most since Asami got her company back after all the shit she went through in Book Two. She would certainly be in a place to empathise with Korra.
>>2023864
>I only can take it out of context, but it does sound very hamfisted.
She says it two times in the movie. First time she says it to Hiro in a situation where he should "man up" but she of course says "woman up". The other time she uses itas her 'calling out her attack' phrase in the final battle.
>Good point. Because of the seasonal gap and tone of writing, it's easy to forget that this is only a couple of weeks at most since Asami got her company back after all the shit she went through in Book Two. She would certainly be in a place to empathise with Korra.
I still would like to know what happened in those weeks by the way. Aside from the game that is.
>>2023875
>I still would like to know what happened in those weeks by the way.
We know that Varrick's controlling interest reverted to Asami. (Who knows if this was ordered by a judge, Raiko, Lin?) Presumably, all her stolen stock as well (which was more than that warehouse; it was also earlier shipments Varrick had hijacked).
So Future Industries was probably back to about where it started when Asami took over. Except with Satan nearly destroying RC, people no linger saw FI as public enemy number one. That alternated between Raiko and Korra. It wouldn't surprise me if she made a killing on sales to replaced damaged vehicles.
There's also the possibility that Varrick pumped his own seemingly unlimited capital into FI during his period of ownership, and got the company back on track, and it was this reinvigorated Future Industries that reverted to Asami.
But even if Asami is still in a bad financial situation, she's well enough off to just give Korra an airship that would cost tens of millions of dollars. So either she recouped a lot of money somehow, regained public trust, or has stopped giving a shit, she's in a much better mood.
For all we know, Future Industries would have gone under again if she hadn't gotten the infrastructure project.
>Aside from the game that is.
Oh, you! :^)
>>2023904
I'm guessing Asami and FI spearheaded the first rebuilding efforts the days after Unavaatu. You'd be surprised how good disaster relief is for public opinion too.
>>2023753
Is Asami about to activate her geass there?
>>2023910
Who would have given her the Geass in the first place?
>>2023907
That would also legitimise a motor company getting a massive infrastructure project.Though i like to think Asami came up with Avatar Korra Park alone, and kind of just doodled how she'd fix the rest of the city, and submitted it to Raiko on a whim.

>"Oh, by the way, I'm going to build giant statues of you, but I'm going to need to see you completely nude. I'll take my clothes off, too, so you feel comfortable. Gal pals."

>>2024460
We can keep secrets from the ones we love the most. All her interactions with Mako have a love and bond, even the fights since she feels so torn up inside, behind them so that when she finally meets up with him it seems so shallow that she goes "I didn't know what to say." Mako was right that a literal "Hello" would have been nice.
Granted Korra even pushed Asami away by not telling her about her decision to run away from her problems, but things like not even meeting up with her parents in season 4 after she leaves is pathetic.
They really went about the love thing in a head scratching way regardless of the network telling them to not be overt.

Jesus, the Pope and Superman wrapped up in one. But because Asami is the one that's mixed race, and because they're both women, and both not straight, they have to play the classism card to find a reason why Asami is bad (for Korra specifically).
The irony is that pursuing the class privilege argument, Asami has nothing on Korra seeing as the former is from a poor family of new money, while the latter is an honest toRaavaprincess.

I think their point is that as an early period capitalist, Asami would likely treat her workers the same way our early capitalists treated theirs, which would make Asami a bad person in general, rather than a bad partner for Korra specifically.
I'm fine assuming Future Industries treats their workers well, though. Hiroshi was big on equality.

Southern Water tribe is elected chieftain position, not inherited. The ones who inherited the title and sit on the throne are the people who successfully held her allies down so that Jesus/the Pope/Superman lost a part of their identity forever while they got a promotion with no consequences.

>That Korra's got a nice tan.
>>2026335
It's so funny that it literally is "that one time she raised her voice at her". You're not even downplaying it. Makorrafags (lets be honest who this is) hung their hat on the abusive Asami bandwagon because she felt abandoned and let her façade slip once.
>Why, she might as well have bitch slapped her.
I think Yue logic like handmaiden/feudal lord and bourgeoisie/proletariat Korrasami is a response to getting laughed out of town by people dismissing the abusive Asami/galpal Korrasami/tamed Korra claims that were all the rage last year.
>>2026465
>Southern Water tribe is elected chieftain position, not inherited.
In social justice circles, you can never lose the privilege (original sin) with which you are born. Thus Korra will always be a noble.

It was posted her before in its entirety. Did you miss it?
>>2027556
I guess so, or at least I don't remember it.
So, what's the current state of korrasami fanfic looking like? Anything worth a damn?
>>2029348
These are the one's I'm currently reading or have marked to read:
http://archiveofourown.org/series/188699
http://archiveofourown.org/works/3987445/chapters/8951752
So, have there been any updates Re: the comic recently?
Bryke and Dark Horse both seem to be keeping shtum.
>>2027085
You still around? I have it, if you want it.
>>2024460
>I think that the homolust rose extremely between book three and four.
For Korra; definitely. For Asami, I think it was consistently smouldering from the time Korra left to her return.
>>2029348
Seems it's all this omegaverse bullshit to me.
>>2029348
Instincts of a fearful body is a good one, but its more plotty then romance. The main core is Asami and Korra, but with the Equalist Asami and Red Lotus Korra there's a lot of pussying around. No wacky misunderstandings at least.
>>2031326
I recall reading a fic with such a premise but I got pissed off at it for making the brothers into such sleazy shitlords and having Korra drop the red lotus thing super quickly.
Is yours a different one?
>>2031329
Yeah, big time. The brothers are pretty cool and bro-y when they show up, and as of last update Korra is still with the red lotus.
http://archiveofourown.org/works/4658958/chapters/10628718
I actually was a bit surprised how good it was, but it works.
>>2031339
Neat, thank you for the link.
>>2031329
>I recall reading a fic with such a premise
Might that be the one I read that became the Mako power hour towards the end and deleted Bolin? Do you recall Kuvira showing up?
>>2031091
>http://archiveofourown.org/series/188699
That author's large piece really went off the rails after the first couple of chapters. His antagonist ends up being as bad as LoK ones and the characters behave rather unnaturally.
>>2031369
I don't recall Kuvira being involved.
>>2031370
She pops in later. But Mako's a crime boss and Bolin's a politician. I guess your fic is a different one then.
>>2029348
Not much on my end. I'd recommend a different take on the Equalist Asami one with this:
http://archiveofourown.org/works/3486491/chapters/7658669
it plays with the history a bit and the latest chapter 9 has more respect for Korra just clicking with airbending than the whole series.
This one has pirates:
http://archiveofourown.org/works/4241964/chapters/9598089
It has grit and I'm interested to see where this ship sails. It's like all the fun of Assassin's Creed Black Flag without the faffing about and conspiracy.
And waiting for this to update:
http://archiveofourown.org/works/3330158/chapters/7280936
The two get stuck in "our" modern world and the story approaches it with just the right amount of stuff that it makes it work. Some of it...a lot more than necessary is filler but it plays to Korra and Asami's strengths while still having them struggle.
>>2023820
>I'm going to assume that they are doing this in front of Asami, and the cosplayer isn't entirely onboard with it.
Also that itwas Asami's idea.
>>2025314

In Europe?
You should be afraid she doesn't built herself a lesbian harem there.

>That author's large piece really went off the rails after the first couple of chapters. His antagonist ends up being as bad as LoK ones and the characters behave rather unnaturally.
I wish that fic Aftermath had continued. Its Kuvira loyalists were a great enemy that made a lot of sense.
Why'd it take me so damn long to find out Project Voicebend started season 2? Do they not want views? How hard is it to put a ten second banner video on YouTube?
>>2033723
Pretty sure youtube has shut their shit down a couple of times. Plus we had couple hundred posts about it when the first ep of s2 came out.
>>2033735
They still have a YouTube page, they could have posted something.
>>2031091
>http://archiveofourown.org/works/3987445/chapters/8951752
This one does one of the best jobs with the love triangle I've seen. It actually makes it feel worthwhile. Plus, it doesn't fall into the "korra is the boy, asami is the girl" stereotype that most tumblrinas slavishly stick to (ironically, reinforcing the feudal lord spiel).
>>2033898

They did have a vid on youtube promoting season two.
But the ep took them a month longer than they had planned. I think they've practically given up on youtube now. Every vid they put up gets a copyright strike. It's just what happens to anyone that's not part of a network.
>>2033898
>>2033936
Mako comes across a lot better in this fic than he ever did in canon.
I say this as someone that's not overly fond of him. Anyone remember the slew of self-insert fics back during the AtLA days? 90% of the time, it was a girl self-inserting as a mary-sue version of themselves that almost always ended up with Zuko, eben though Jet and Sokka were likely attracted to her as well.
Bryke really must have like those self-insert fanfics. Book One of Korra feels like the self-insert fanfic version of another, better story (about learning airbending and the Equalists). It's just with a guy this time. He's cool, sexy, stoic, has all of Azula's powers but is better than her and uses them for good. And the two main girls both fall for him, and it tortures him to choose between them...
And Bryan even admits they drew from his college experiences. So I'm beginning to suspect Bryan only suggested Korrasami in Book One so that his self insert could have a threesome.
>>2034118
>/co/ in charge of Republic City's newspaper
>tfw /co/ brought out the rosary beads, crosses and the "Down with this sick filth" protest signs
Outsde of /co/ (where you see people influenced by /co/), but unlike /co/, you don't get dopiled and can actually talk about it a little.
These days, bringing up LoK will immediately raise accusations of the show being full of pandering to lesbians. /co/ focused its ire on it so much that people who only watched it once (or never have) complain that the show was often derailed by it. Pointing out that the entirety of the "pandering" came in the last four seconds of the final episode leaves them with little option than to just call LoK bad for non-specific reasons.
>>2031351
>Haven't seen many fics like these that embed relevant images into the actual fic.
With the exception of a couple of dodgy edits, it's surprisingly non-intrusive. Gets you back in the mood of the series, I think.

That fic REALLY shouldn't work. But it's addictive in a way I hadn't seen since the retarded spirit babies fic.

Even /co/ acknowledges how they're such good friends.

Hopefully, it's the new artist and a release date.
Also should mention that the free babby Korra comic is due for release on May 7th.

If it doesn't belong on any board then what possesses people to get mad when it gets pitched? It's garbage so it belongs there. It certainly doesn't have anything to do with this thread on this board.
