Read the manga, her metabolism isn't that of a human. Foods can only bring enough thermal conductivity to power 50% or her daily needs. That being said she can eat as much she wanted however this is Japanese food we are talking about with shit portions. She needs to recharge, and if she expend more of her energy in battles the more she will need to either recharge or eat. The manga goes into more detail in regards to how she/Clarion works, weapons, tachikomas and hacking lingo. The manga also has more yuri, Marasume Shirow likes his yuri?
