Chinatsu telling Akari to pretend to be her GIRLFRIEND is the best thing from this episode. Not something ambiguous, she explicitly said girlfriend. Amazing.
This is a huge step in the right direction. Potential yuri pairings in CGDCT shows almost always stuck in class S/best friends limbo. Hopefully Yuru Yuri can break this annoying trend.

Actually it was already changed in a sister in the tankobon release, so way before the anime started airing. If you look at the earlier chapters you'll notice that Namori didn't really have a clear idea yet on what kind of series this would become, therefore she later redrew the first volumes with her new art style and the personalities of the characters we know today.
I think that, initially, Akari's brother was supposed to be just an offscreen character, but then she decided to add the sisters and remove males completely, even as offscreen characters.

The anime is simply a big add for all the other stuff, including the manga. At the very worst it will "only" break even but it is more likely it is going to make a profit.
Even if the sales aren't that great, I think that at the least they could consider going back to the previous team (please, anything but that) since they were more profitable. Another season isn't that far fetched if Namori pours out enough content. Hell, they could even try their luck with Oomuro-ke considering Sakuracunt's popularity.

Yes, but that date ended with Akari concluding that Chitose is like a granma, which is not very flattering at all. An "I want to be a grown up like you" situation lends itself to more yuri scenarios.
In that regard, Chizuru is also a wasted asset. I'd like to see her interacting more with the core group (or at least in a slightly incestuous way with Chitose). We could see her, for instance, shopping alongside her sister and Ayano and exploring a bit more her reasons to ship those two.
