The whole show is a convoluted mess of non-Euclidan proportions, there is no way for everyone to be happy because everyone is a part of a love triangle (except for maybe Nishigakitachi) so someone somewhere will be left out. Yuru Yuri is a 12 lanes tragic love pile-up and it won't be pretty whatever happens.

This has nothing to do with season 3, but there was a scene in one of the previous episodesI thinkthat gave a backstory on Kyoko and Yui. Nadeshiko is the only character that is in a relationship, and Namori won't even confirm who it is. If all the characters had set in stone romantic partners that'd kinda spoil the charm.

Yuru Yuri is written in such a way that, even if some pairings would make more sense than others due to their personalities or just more screentime together, it's possible for the average fan to work out small instances of interaction into a mental narrative about a meaningful relationship. Hence why Namori peppers her work with small details, like having Ayano and Yui on a forced date or mentioning that the Ikeda twins do rather intimate stuff together. It's food for yuri thought.
Plus, it's kind of dickish to go around complaining about fans making stuff anyway. That's a job for the sort of mental police nobody wants around.

Not disagreeing with that. Just saying the show/manga does not ship them. Namori only gives the fans the option to ship, the rest is up to them.
I think AyanoxYui is a good example for that. They only share a very few chapters alone with each other. There is no romantic tension between them but the reader can see why there could be a romantic development if you want to ship them.

Actually her mystery partner has been confirmed for about 4 years now in her side series Yuru Yuri Oomuro-ke. This scene from Nachuyachumi!+ is a reference to said series and will also make sense if you'll read up. It's pretty good.

She never confirmed it though. That's basically a very important source of humor/speculation throughout the series. The person's identity will probably blurred a few times too if we go along the status quo of the Nanamoriverse. First of all, it all depends on what "move" you're thinking about.
If we go by the "corner into a wall and attempt kissing", she would at first think this is one of her jokes. Once she realizes there's nobody but them both around (and so there's no one else the joke could be directed at) she would get mildly nervous, thinking her senpai may pull out at the last second, as a sort of personal joke. At the moment of contact though, she would be incredibly surprised, but then any distress would flow away under Kyouko's rather agressive ministrations.
Being the energetic girl that she is, Sakurako would spare any sort of "waits" or "stops", seeing no problem grabbing her senpai again after she pulls out, into a second kiss.
My other guess is that they could both be playing something a bit physical for whatever reason (like the water fights in the OVA). As the game goes on, they fixate intensely on each other, their moves getting cockier and more daring. Once they reach hand-to-hand distance, Kyouko may steal a kiss, or may rub her body in a certain way. Instead of shying away, and relying on her own physical instinct for thought, Sakurako would retaliate just as daringly. The whole thing then devolves from wrestling into something +18 rated, without one or the other realizing what they just did, and what it means, until after the fact.

So, where I watch the show and my friends who watch the show, all seem to ship Kyoko x Ayano, including me. So I've always thought they are more popular than Kyoko x Yui, but I guess Japan's opinion is the one that will matter at the end, so, which one is more popular there?
I dont read the manga so I dont know anything beyond what I see on the show.
But desu, I hope that if some ships get to be canon at the end, it wont be Kyoko x Yui, because they are a cool pair of best friends and I like their dynamic that way.

As far as I know Namori likes the YuixKyouko and AyanoxChitose pairings, giving the latter quite a few nice moments lately, which is very welcome, these setups have nice chemistry to them. I wouldn't worry about anything canon though if I were you.
