What's your favourite movie directed by a woman, and what are some movies which prove women can be great directors too?
It was a toss up between this and Lost in Translation for me. Both fantastic but American Psycho tips the scales very slightly.

Sophia Coppola is a fine director even though I don't particularly like any of her work.
not a director, but i was super surprised to learn that Hot Rod was written by a woman because it's probably my favorite post 2000 Hollywood comedy.
