I don't disagree that Bran got a raw deal getting pushed from the tower, but if we're arguing about personal agency, it's no contest.Bran may be crippled, but he was the Lord of Winterfell. When Winterfell got sacked, he CHOSE to go North tho become a fucking superhero. Sansa was locked in various rooms her entire life. Arya, Brienne, Melisandre, and the Brotherhood without banners are all going to end up together and merge with the North.
Euron, Daenarys, Samwell, and all of Daenarys's allies will merge into the same story in the big Oldtown battle in ep5 or ep6, then ~8 characters will be killed off there.
That leaves King's Landing, Bran (merges with the North), the fall of the wall (probably Bran POV), and Jorah (if he isn't healed offscreen).
I'm surprised they're going to make season 8 as long as 7 episodes, there isn't much left to work with since they gutted the concept of bannermen and Euron's godslaying plot.

Oldtown is a far greater and more important city than King's Landing, and it's important for the plot that King's Landing survives at least until the season finale. Euron can stand against Daenarys much better than Cersei can. None of Daenarys's commanders or advisors except for the sneks would want to take KL before retaking/defending Oldtown, especially not Olenna Redwyne and Randyll Tarly (who command the only competent part of her army when it gets cold)

He's going to give Dany an Ultimatum: He'll either help her take KL in exchange for letting the North stay Sovereign, or go to war with her own nephew who is widely know to be a good and just man, which would start her rule off poorly as a kinslayer and having the entire North want to kill her. She'll probably counter saying that she'll marry him to keep the north under her control, which he may or may not accept. Tyrion, knowing the Starks to be good people and knowing Jon personally to be a good person, will probably tell her to let the North go if Jon doesn't accept the marriage.

Not him, but could you please summarize what the Mereenese knot was supposed to be? I've never fully understood it. I thought it was the issue of George struggling to converge storylines together so he could reach the endgame, with Mereen as the biggest example and the one he kept running into problems with?
