FUCKING NORMIES
Who /qyburn/ here?
Do we think Euron will matter at all in the upcoming plot? The show has surpressed magical elements before because of budget. I just don't see how the show can even pretend to have dramatic tension when dragons are in the equation now

Does anyone know what the name of the musical piece that served as the riverrun theme this season is called? It playsd in Episode 7 at 28:00 mins and again during the credits, it's a dope cello piece. I can't find it in the official soundtrack they put out.

I'm interested to see what happens in the Riverlands. With Jaime gone and the top 3 Freys dead there's a bit of a power vacuum. Jon being honorable and whatnot will probably feel morally obligated to liberate The Riverlands since they're in their current state because they swore to Robb. Meanwhile Cersei would have to contemplate engaging in a two-front war or just ceding The Riverlands to The North.
>>71447234
Redditors and normies are upset about this too. Sure we ENJOYED arya feeding frey pie, but it felt so cheap and undeserved.

...so send men to start repairing the castles on The Wall and liberate The Riverlands while they do so. Maybe send the northernmost houses to reinforce The Night's Watch while taking more southern houses and the KotV to take the Riverlands. Then leave a smaller defensive force behind and move back north to the now completed forts along The Wall.
The North can't just leave their asshole spread open for a Lannister or Targaryen buttfucking.
>>71447356
She's not the rightful heir whatsoever, even if it was to go down the Lannister line, Tyrion would take precedence before her.

There should be hundreds of them left, but D&D literally forgot there are two other castles besides Castle Black.

The Nights Watch is completely irrelevant to the plot at this point. Sometime next season we'll get one scene there and it'll be Edd getting BTFO in one second as the Night King brings the wall down.

I would be fine with him as an enemy if he wasn't full of crazy invincible elements with one weakness.

Why did they confuse the corn?
Can you guys post your theories about the White Walkers and what the fuck they are about? GRRM has critiqued Tolkien for making his story completely good versus evil but I don't see how the White Walkers are anything but pure evil, their leader has devil horns and raises the undead. Whats his deal?
They kill off too many goddamn characters. It can't feel like a "fictional history" when dozens of the most important people in the world die in a single year.
>>71448294
>Even if you don't agree with what the scene serves the plot you could at least agree that the sequence was handled really well
A bunch of 2D characters with ironically no character died in a light show with some Dark Souls music playing. Tommen dies and is forgotten 2 minutes later by everybody. Lancel becomes paralyzed after taking a knife to the gut.
Instead of showing Tommen's introspection to the events, instead of showing him confronting Cersei, instead of becoming an actual character he just abruptly jumps out of a window.
The suicide scene was if nothing else meant to shock those stupid drunk people who post their reaction videos online.
I love having ten major events occur in every season despite none of the "characters" involved having any character whatsoever.
I genuinely wonder what the total dialogue count was for this season. It's all just shock and awe bullshit. This show may as well be directed and produced by Michael Bay.

You're grasping at straws to find bad things about this sequence. I don't think anyone's arguing here that the show did a good job with this scene in terms of the overall narrative, but the sequence itself was fantastic.
Tommen wasn't forgotten two minutes later. His mom acknowledges him in a later scene. I never understand what you guys want when it comes to mourning a character. Should we have a whole episode where Jon, Sansa, Davos, and Cersei get together to mourn dead children? The mourning is implied, the momentum of the show needs to continue

And that's why GRRM is a fucking idiot.
Still, he writes good dialogues. Too bad the show decided to go full on explosions and gore. Exposition? FUCK exposition.
This has no basis, but is my own personal theory since nothing will ever be explained in this series...
The Others (WW) are marching South to kill R'hllor (Lord of Light) because he's a douchebag who does the exact same, "evil" shit that the White Walkers supposedly do. The WW just look spooky.
Aesthetics shouldn't play in to good or evil, or at least not to the extent you're pulling from.

God I hope so. I want more than anything for the show to explore Asshai for an episode, if only so we can get a model of it for the title sequence.
Okay, actually I'd like to see Ulthos, Yi-Ti, Yeen, or especially the Five Forts more than anything but those only exist for the express purpose of being mysterious and distant so Asshai is probably the best we can hope for. God I want them to talk about the Lion of night.
Since they deleted the Seastone Chair it's the only chance we have to hear exposition about the oily black stone unless they talk about the little bit of it in Oldtown, which could very well happen in the Sam plot.
>>71448495
The Others from the books aren't dead and the "Night's King" in that is one of the Lord Commanders of the Night's Watch who nuts inside an ice lady and brings her to the Nightfort. This implies that The Others have sentience and are capable of doing more than murdering things. D&D may opt for a simpler depiction.
Can somebody please tell me what the fuck was the point of the High Sparrow other than plot filler, he comes in, imprisons a bunch of side characters that don't develop at all as the result of his actions. Marg stays loyal to her family, Cersei remains hateful, Tommen remains naive. Then he dies and takes all those characters with him for what? What about Mace and Kevan? Why are they even in the show if they don't fucking do anything like Joffrey or Tywin used to do.

We can tell they are sentient in the show though, they ride horses, they command armies, they stand back and let the undead do the work, they make eye contact with humans and so on. None of this is true. These characters have for years been elemental in shaping the changing political landscape of King's Landing.
The Tyrells first came in as people who could out maneuver Cersei at her own game. Then the high Sparrow came to power as a result of Cersei's ignorance to her own people: when the kingdom is not well off it will turn to religion.
The political landscape of King's Landing has always been one of the most fascinating things about the show. It was working towards Cersei being completely beaten, and once doing so, working towards her usurping the Game of Thrones altogether.
Is it sustainable? Probably not. But it was riveting saga that was cooking for more than two seasons and more than earned it's shocking finale.
Filler? I have no idea what that could possibly mean. What is NOT filler to you at this point? Do you just want things to go straight to dragon and zombie fights? Arya training montages, Theon torture session, Tyrion playing drinking games in Mereen. THAT is filler.
The show exploring the complex narrative threads that lead to the complete destruction of the Throne as we know it is anything but.

no. Those are necessary for a stage play. And a book. The medium here is film. There's more ways to tell a story than people talking to each other. Don't compare a well crafted, perfectly calculated sequence of a television show to an AMV, that's just invalidating your point altogether

>>71449136
You're acting like it's an explosion at the end of an action movie. This is only the beginning of the severe narrative and political consequences of the show. It was a move that made sense in the context of the characters.

>>71449117
>Somehow the Tyrell's deaths didn't affect the plot? You do realize that is the reason the Martell and the Tyrells are allied with Dany at this moment right?
No, because D&D retconned the Tyrells to only be the second strongest army when previously they were the overwhelming biggest, so the Tyrells were reduced from a force that should have been able to march into King's Landing themselves immediately to just another minor piece of Dany's army which is also completely irrelevant because Dany already had overwhelming force.
And no, it had nothing to do with the Martells allying with Dany. That's your first lie.
>And what about the people in KL rebelling?
And there's your second. That did not happen, Cersei seized power with zero problems. I have no interest in continuing a conversation with a proven liar so fuck off.

If you wanted to show consequences, you show it in Episode 1, not in the finale. You know what was really shocking? When Eddard died in Ep. 9, and Ep. 10 was the aftershock.
All of these bullshit shock and awe finales serve one purpose: Bring in viewers and hope they forget about it in a years time.
And they always do.
Remember when Tyrion killed his father and escaped King's Landing? Everybody in the show forgot about that, and so did the viewers.
Remember when the White Walkers were totally coming and attacked Hardhorne? Everybody in the show forgot about that, and so did the viewers. Fucking Varys moves faster than The Others.
The show already HAD plot points that never got resolved because everybody forgot about them, and then it introduced new ones, that people will inevitably forget about.

>>71449823
Okay, this is just idiotic at this point. Your examples can be taken apart in a sentence each.
There will be consequences starting next season, guaranteed.
Tyrion LEFT his home as King's Landing it actually set up the course of the narrative for Tyrion to join Dany in Meereen and RETURN with her army. Do we really need several scenes of people going up to Cersei and being like "we still can't find him, ma'am"?? There's even still consequences of Sansa marrying Ramsay, Cersei wants his head for it but decides not to thanks to Little Finger.
White Walkers can't pass the wall, we know that. It has set up consequences too, now important characters on the show have actually seen the white walkers and accept them as a threat.
There are consequences to every action on this show (minus Arya's apparrently lol) and there's never been an exception to that. Even what happened in the finale itself was the result of several seasons of consequence from Cersei attempting to politically maneuver without the help of her father.
>>71449984
Wow thanks for reminding me that I forgot about the shit I'm currently talking about and complaining that the show didn't resolve or reference at all in the episodes succeeding the events.

You can do better than that.
>Do we really need several scenes of people going up to Cersei and being like "we still can't find him, ma'am"??
He is literally right hand to Daenerys Stormborn, "The most popular dwarf in the world". Everybody of any reasonable power knows Tyrion is in Meereen. D&D love to drive home the point that "Cersei is a mother, it's what humanizes her, she'd do anything for them" but she doesn't care that Joffrey's murderer is living it up across the narrow sea, plotting to overtake the Iron Throne which her second son was sitting on, not to mention Myrcella.
>White Walkers can't pass the wall, we know that. It has set up consequences too, now important characters on the show have actually seen the white walkers and accept them as a threat

>Jaime forgets/doesn't care about Tyrion, Joffrey, Myrcella (but supposedly he'll care about Tommen next season)
>White Walkers attack Hardhorne and are supposedly making a bee line South... until they forget and start time traveling looking for some cripple in the woods
>>71450293
20 hours in? Try the first 10 minutes of next year. Dude, it literally just happened. This isn't a video game it's a show you've already invest 60 hours in. You can invest a few more to see the consequences of the show.
Yeah, him being right hand to Dany is a CONSEQUENCE of him killing his father. Cersei doesn't have Varys or little finger to educate her about happenings accross the sea and considering she's been imprisoned or held in the red keep for the past season and a half I wouldn't expect her to be super concerned with finding her brother who wouldn't dare return to King's Landing anyways.
Jon Snow and crew doesn't know that about the White Walkers. We do. We also know that Bran will likely play a part in bringing them over the wall.

Cersei does care, there's a scene of mourning for each of her children. You don't need anything more than that. You're a big boy who can reach your own conclusions about a character's grieving. read above about Tyrion.
Jamie does care about Tyrion and helped him escape? You need help editing your point there. Same mourning point as above.
They can't get south until they break the magic in the wall. The key to that? Bran.
Easy. Too easy.

>... until they forget and start time traveling looking for some cripple in the woods
Which they also, conveniently forgot about since plot device showed up for a whole 60 seconds to escort them safely somewhere else that looks exactly the same as where they were.

Read before you press enter dude. This is entirely incoherent.

>Cersei does care, there's a scene of mourning for each of her children
Remember the Purple Wedding? Her rasping freak out against Tyrion? Her crusade to end him? Suddenly just comes to a halt with the new season.
>Jamie does care about Tyrion and helped him escape?
This was before he killed Tywin, which he promptly does after being aided in escaping by Jaime. Jaime disapproved of Tywin's murder, but decided to go to Dorne instead, believing Myrcella to be a more urgent plot device... until she dies in the finale, and then he forgets about her and promptly decides that Riverrun is a more urgent plot device.
>They can't get south until they break the magic in the wall. The key to that? Bran

Adding to this: are we not literally about to see the consequence of Cersei now that she has no children to protect and legacy to preserve?
The more I think about it the less and less any of your points even make sense

>are we not literally about to see the consequence of Cersei now that she has no children to protect and legacy to preserve?
You mean a year from now, if it happens? Who is going to care that Cersei is on the throne, how she got there, and that she has no children? Cersei hasn't cared about her children in 2 seasons, Jaime never cared about his children, and neither of them care about legacy.
Cersei will die not because of consequences of her actions, not because someone judged her actions. She'll die because she happens to be on the Iron Throne when dragons show up.
You're worse than that old fuck who kept predicting the end of the Earth and asking for money.
Well, I guess you're not asking for money. Slightly better.

Okay you've already ignored some of my points cause I BTFO'd ya, but I'll keep biting cause it's easy.
Cersei is majorly pissed at the beginning of season 5, remember she also just lost Tywin, and is worried about losing Tommen. This sparks the crusade against margery resulting in the rise of the high sparrow which lead to what you just saw. Actions. Consequences. Sorry she didn't REEEEE enoguh for ya, I know you autists like that.
Yeah, Myrcella is his daughter. Saving his daughter would take precedence over revenge on his brother no? And once again, she's mourned at the beginning of the season but he has people who are still alive, namely Cersei, who he's concerned about in terms of what happened to her with high sparrow.
And yes. The last thing is true. It's been heavily indicated this season. Just like the wildfire which you were claiming was so obvious.
You're done dude. Just go refill your mountain dew and enjoy your evening.
