Does anyone else feel thta his arc should have ended a season+ or so ago? Either by death or something else. Don't get me wrong, him teaming up and becoming Daenery's hand is a brilliant idea. I just can't help but feel that his story arc has in general grown very, very stale. . Even Dinklages acting seems blander than ever (some of this might be the scrips fault).
I think it was during his trial that i just get overfed with him. He got way too much screen time and then there's the constant reddit/internet criclejerk for everything he does. He used to be my favorite character by fare, however, similar to how the Sandsnakes largely got dumped this season because of the fandoms negative reaction to them, his insane popularity seems to carry him through the series more than anything else.
The "Tyrion can outwit and talk himself out of any situation" has gone from awesome to just predictable and even cringy at times. It’s just the same old drinking wine and spitting out “I’m smarter than everybody else” lines over and over again. And of course everything about him, all the choices he makes, are likeable and reasonable to the audience. It’s just so glaring that the character is Martins (probably D&D too) and the fans favorite.

Basically if you're a male in the North and you've survived Robb's war, Stannis's invasion, and the Bastard Bowl then you're pretty much guaranteed more pussy than you can count...provided that you survive the Wildling invasion.
There are two arcs that really irritate me:
Tyrion being so loyal to Dany and believing in her so much and Davos being so loyal to Jon.
Both make little sense with the development of their relationships at this point.
Tyrion barely spent any time with Dany before she flew away. Granted he may have been impressed by her riding dragons but as a ruler she's shown absolutely zero signs he should have so much faith in her,
Davos being so loyal to Jon makes little sense either. They had the perfect opportunity to develop their relationship at the wall when Stannis was there, but they didn't. Davos showed zero signs he had more faith in Jon other than a line to Jon reassuring him that Stannis liked/respected him.
Both are done purely to further the plot which would have been fine if the characters motivations had fallen in line with the plot. If they knew the direction they were going to go with the show, why the fuck didn't they spend time establishing that route instead of making a sharp turn to Shitty town?

Certain characters work well on their OWN arcs, but not as a side character.
Theon, for example, shouldn't be a side character in Dany's arc.
Neither should Tyrion or Varys, as they've suffered major characterisation because of this.
Davos should not be a side character in Jon's arc, or Littlefinger either.
Ideally, most characters would continue having their own individual plots like Arya seems to have succeeded in doing for her entire show run. Yeah, Arya's story is shit now, but at least her plotline is independent from everyone else's.

This part of the plan bothered me. Presumably it went down exactly how Cersei wanted it to go down to the last detail, but... it could have easily not gone so well. What if Lancel actually managed to stop the fuses? Heck, if he were a little less crippled from being stabbed only once (sure was lucky for the kid to paralyze Lancel's legs in one stab) then he could have blown out the candles and saved everyone. Then when he crawls back out of the cellars and exposes the plot Cersei would have been more fucked than ever before. All because she left this one part of her plan open for failure.
Maybe there was another candle somewhere else we didn't see. Like a backup candle just in case. That would make sense.
