I almost feel like S6 ruined the early seasons for me as well, I can't watch them knowing what the show will devolve into. Most of the characters have become walking parodies of themselves, the plots bend over backwards to fit whatever D&D thought would be cool, terrible writing of both the general narrative and specific dialog, internal logic and consistency have been thrown out the window, dumb shit happens multiple times an episode and you're supposed to "suspend you disbelief", there's too much meta set talk, S5 and S6 have been drawn to all fuck and with no real purpose etc.

I feel like theyve cut a lot from Bran. He has the least amount of chapters out of the 5 mains but theres still a lot more material with him than the show represents. It's just shitty writing, the writers need to turn up the drama to 11 so they write contrived conflict. Any lack of continuity as considered dramatic reversal. That's how scifi/fantasy has been written for tv for a decade or more. Only a few stalwarts like JMS and Whedon resist it.
Almost every good show ends up in this trap eventually, Orphan Black descended into this stuff, BSG lived in the drama quagmire for whole seasons, it's become completely standard for some relationship on a show to do a 180 every second episode, they can't help themselves.

Nobody is going to pretend that Bran should have as much screentime as the other 4 main characters. The problem most people have is how they write bran compared to everyone else. If you had to describe Bran's personality without mentioning anything about his disability or magical powers, what would you say? Theres not much to say, because he's cardboard. I've never felt like he was a cardboard character in the books, in fact he was the one whos motivations I understood and sympathized with the most tbqh. This show has always had a problem with thin characterizations with flimsy motivations, but I honestly don't feel like theres a character that encapsulates this problem moreso than bran.

I think the reason I hate her more than any other scenes isn't that they are worse than most of the other ones but that she has so much more potential for cool scenes than all of the others except for like the white walkers and bran stuff right now. She has had three fucking dragons since the start of season two and just now we finally get to see her actually use them for something. Dany probably has a Valyrian accent because she learnt it fluently when young. Dany sounds like nobility, she sounds posher than posh people sound.
