No one, all of the numbers and "payments" are bullshit for the cameras.
>>

Collector mentality without the collector knowledge.

They see the game title and prices without ever acknowledging condition.

Nobody would mind paying $100 for an open box famicom, but these fuckers don't understand why.

Favorite moment of this show was when they found (or planted) a binder or really rare Magic the Gathering cards and took it to a convention dealer. The binder easily had things that were worth 400+ dollars per card, but the guy trying to sell it obviously did not.

After a bit of high-low betting, the seller managed to get around $800 bucks for the entire binder and walked away happy. The fun part was watching the friends of the convention dealer desperately shoo people away from either making their own offers, or revealing the actual value. From what they had shown of a couple pages of cards, in good condition, would have gone for a few grand easily.

You would have to be the worst kind of hipster to buy a new anyways. I can't imagine going back to that shit. No saves, checkpoints or anything. And the games were buggy as shit too and often impossible to enjoy.
There are 12 year olds today that make better games with current technology

The comments say it all.

"Ahhh! found the clip. My brother worked as a DP for this show.

The cards he's "selling" actually belong to the guy the glasses "These cards are extremely collectable".. His name is Tim, and he runs CCG shop in california. They literally flew him out for this show, paid him $2k + per diem food/hotel.

I hope I don't get in trouble for saying that, but what the hell. Everyone can tell it's already faked."
>>
>>70954635
Its worse than that.
The 810 was his value of the storage unit before the nes.

He legit (or not, tv you know) thought it was about 10k.

The only special editions worth anything are the weeb games that sell out in 20 seconds on nis america.

Let's say I do find the actual very first NES console that left the factory.

Why for fucks' sake would anyone care? What's the argument for it being specially collectable?

>I mean, it's all staged right?

For the most part.

My understanding is that the storage lockers are actually filled with someone’s useless trash but the high-value “finds” that magically occur in almost every storage locker, are items loaned to the tv show production by the very same antique experts who the buyer then goes to get the item appraised...

Pawn Stars did the same thing much of the time; hiring an actor who pretends to have some kinda neat-o valuable antique that he might want to “sell” but the item in fact already belonged to the Pawn Stars pawn shop.
