The wage gap, which I do not believe in as a form of oppression but the choice of women who don't wish to enter STEM fields, is due to several reason. For example, women who want to take time off work to have children are penalised for a physical difference - you are not creating profit for a company so you do not get money or long term opportunity - this is despite the fact that no one should give a flying fuck about some CEOs profit, having children is a part of nature - money is not. Secondly, while I do believe there is more merit in someone with an engineering degree than a womens studies major, a lot of female dominated fields such as nursing are still highly important to society - and yet they are paid less. I'm not saying nurses should be paid shitloads, I believe people should not being paid shitloads in the first place. Bring everything into the middle.
