Sansa is awful but she's right on TWO accounts
1.) It's a really dumb move for Jon to march on Winterfell "for fear of a storm" when they have a chance of rallying more Houses and possibly even collecting the Manderlys. The risk of marching before a storm is much worse than not marching before a storm. Jon is making the same mistakes as Stannis did and he hasn't even lost half his army in desperation yet
2.) Jon SHOULDN'T underestimate Ramsay. Jon has never won a proper battle by himself, aside from the small raiding party defending Castle Black, while Ramsay has defeated Stannis. It's also very dangerous to risk your men to a defeat at the hands of House Bolton. Defeated by the Others? You'll die and come back. Pretty fucked. Defeated by the Boltons? You're all going to get flayed alive if you don't die horribly.

Really the only sensible reason D&D could have rolled with is to avenge the memories of Stannis and Shireen, if he assumed they were killed and flayed in the Bolton massacre, but that's undone when he's fighting for someone who has Stannis' murderer as an ally and was resurrected by the evil god worshipped by the mother of demons that burned his daughterfu alive.

The scene where he had his last talk with Shireen and gave her the stag could have happened at Castle Black instead.

Not really. The lords sent Robb only at best half of their manpower, and at least one major Lady (Lady Dustin) who controls the Barrowlands which are quite rich sent only a token force of a few hundred men.
Robb was a new young lord and he was in a rush, so it makes sense they didn't send all their forces. At best, the North could yield an army of 40 000 perhaps.
