A scene which was done very very well. Much better than Moffat's send-off.
The only Harry Potter imagery I can think of is it being a secret street in London, like Diagon Alley. And I can't think of any thing in the episode that lacked explanation. If anything, her story suffered from Moffat assigning Heaven Sent build-up to it. But she incorporated it as well as possible.

Moffat literally doesn't have to waste time on any of that stuff.
- Bill's introductory episode was always going to have other significant characters in it, and a main plot, just like every other introductory episode. Moffat has previously had the job of introducing a new Doctor and new companion simultaneously and the result was one of the most praised episodes of his tenure.
- Nardole will probably be shoved into a new set of circumstances that make referencing THORS borderline unnecessary. The most we'll get is maybe a throwaway line. Moffat has been writing television for decades and is not going to waste time trying to come up with arbitrary minutiae about a year-plus old episode when he has a new main character to introduce. All that needs to be said about Nardole is 'the Doctor already knows him'.
