Someone should seriously kill Paige so we don't have to see that stupid "concerned" face of hers ever again.
Who /Stan/ here?
>>70616595
>thanks for the beer!
I really hope Paige whacks Pastor Tim tonight. Also I wonder whether tonight the first seed of doubt in Stan's mind will be planted.
>>70616036
I nearly imploded with rage when she tried to equate her blabbing to Pastor Tim to her "reporting" on Matthew, bitch, YOU put yourself in that position because of YOUR fuckup!
The very last shot of the episode is going to be Henry finding out. Cap this post.
>>70616692
>>70616595
I like Stan, but not above the Jennings'.
>>70617011
I think he might find a clue, or look for one, just like Paige in S1.

Tonight is so bittersweet, this season has been amazing, it's sad to see it go for another year.
>>70618813
This season has been my favorite so far, easily. So many good episodes.
who /torrentingafterthefinals/?
great season, just excellent all around
>tfw PST and can't watch with everyone else
Who just wants stan and Phillip to be bros no matter what happens
>>70620008
I think we all want that too

i think it'll happen Stan will finally become the absolute madman
>>70620465
too many
Why did he do it, guys? could it be the center trying to clean up William for being a pussy? i don't think that's likely..
god damn it oleg why do this!
>>70620774
He wanted to be the guy who didnt fire the nukes. He wanted to be bigger than the political tension between nations and prevent this biological situation happening.
>>70620774
if they get William doesnt Tatiana fail, then no moving to Nairobi?
>>70620846
oh shits you're on to something senpai
>>70620846
Yea but she will be Persona Non Grata'd and removed from the American rezidentura.
>>70620932
>>70620960
I don't know, mate
the preview doesnt give that much away,,,
Im just hoping for a good finale.
I'm so hyped for the finale but I'm also kinda bummed cause it's the last new episode for a long time.
I don't know how they could possibly do two more season of this show. They took off three (maybe more) characters this season and there isn't that many. I still love it and believe the writers can pull it off, but how much longer can Stan be stringed along for?
>>70621880
but Paige us only half a spy and Henry isn't an FBI agent yet!
I sort of want to see a continuation of the asian family story
>>70621880
the family is the lens for the events they're thrust in and that is usually when new characters or old ones come back into play so it will depend in there is another time jump but most likely something happens tonight that changes everything.
>>70622062
God no, it was heart breaking enough what Liz had to do and how shitty she felt about it, and then there was the followup with Philip, give that a cleanbreak.
>>70622394
I dont want to it to end up the guy commits suicide or something but I would like to see Liz try and unfuck their life a little
>>70620452
Is that what time it comes on the app? I actually just downloaded it this week, and the movie selection and Simpsons World plus commentary are pretty sweet. I was wondering how the Americans airtime worked?
1 hour and 30 minutes left, right?
>>70620774
He did it for noble purposes, he wasn't betraying his people. He didn't want his country's brilliant minds like William to be responsible for destroying the world.
>Last episode of the season
>>70623099
3-315 am est is when it hits it on the xbone fx app. Dat Simpsons world is amazing, I'll often just pop in and select play random episode.

A lively thread already! Tonight's episode is titled "Persona Non Grata":
>Philip and Elizabeth face a tense race against the FBI to recover a dangerous package.
Anyway, do we have to worry about cancellation or is two additional seasons confirmed?

>>70625243
Fantastic. What I'm most happy about is how slowly but surely, these threads have started to gain traction. Used to be 10 of us a week, now there's around 30 with relatively little shitposting on top of that.
Just patiently waiting for Tyrant now and earnestly hope that Barry continues to be Big Boss.

I hope it stays like this, I saw what happened to Breaking Bad.
is Henry good shota yet
literally the only way i could see myself continuing to watch this after s3
>>70625381
Show is too niche for that to happen but I love it all the same.
>>70621304
it makes it hotter that I found out recently that they are actually dating
it feels real somehow, even though its co-stars, probably see them split a few years after the end of the series

Not for long
>>70625431
they're having a kid in real life bud so I wouldn't worry about that.
Anyone else think there is something sketchy about the computer? They keep showing it every fucking episode. At one point Henry said to Stan that it was acting weird and asked him if he knew anything about computers. And they were moving it around and hooking it up to the tv last episode. Plus, Gabriel was the one that gave them the computer.
>>70625501
does popping out a kid only one year into a relationship seem normal to you ? also when you already have two of them from a previous relationship

Did Americans ever actually send people over to the USSR to "blend" in with the locals, or did they completely rely on foreign assets within the USSR (aka double agents) to do their spying for them?
>>70626422
They tried but more often than not it was getting their people to turn instead. They had stories on cspan oral history about our people being captured trying to go from embassy and Russians usually had people waiting.
>>70626422
I'm sure the CIA did more than you could ever imagine.

>>70626505

Catching up with this season, on episode 9 now. Pretty great season overall.
>>70626587
eh I'm not sure if thats it, I still think its going to be unexpected, maybe paige kills someone or henry, it will be something we're not expecting. this whole connors thing is to divert us from whats going to happen

Philip was definitely referring to his life as a KGB agent...
I think he fucking wants out.
>>70627052

And that since season 1,2
I like how they're having Philip have a slow, gradual burn-out from the job as opposed to it coming out of nowhere.

>tfw /tv/ tourist only for The Americans threads

As Phil was talking, I was agreeing with everything he said
I don't want to go to work anymore because I hate it
I have to go because I have commitments to my wife and kids to be a good provider
I let myself down every day in order to not let them down
no one cares that I do this or notices
>>70627071
It definitely came to a head in Season 3; Season 1 and 2 was Elizabeth thinking that he wanted out because he was good at being an American.
The thing with the IT guy just broke him.

its pretty much implied he is going to use the passport at some point to get into america to find phil

>>70628151
I do and a few other Anons. You have four weeks to catch up if you're interested.
The Stan coming home and telling Philip about their kids making out was a weird deflation to the tension that built up.

That felt much more like a regular episode than a finale. Episode 7 (or was it 8?) this season felt like this season's finale, especially with the timeskip afterwards.
I mean it wasn't a bad episode, but nothing particularly mind-blowing happened and the Jennings situation hasn't really changed at all aside from Paige hooking up with Stan's son.

S1 and S2 finales are two of the best episodes tho
That finale was a little underwhelming, but mostly because now we have to wait a fucking year again.
Very weak and "safe" finale.
No intrigue whatsoever.
They should've at least shown us how Stan is looking suspiciously at Phil and Paige as they walk to their home or something like that.
>>70631326
I agree. I wanted something to happen to actually change the dynamic of the show. Now we're stuck with another season where the Jennings are still living their "normal" lives, keeping 1 step ahead of the FBI, etc. Instead of having something go terrible wrong and forcing them to get caught / turned / go on the run, etc. Something that actually changes the show completely.
Obviously the best route they could go is to have them turned into double agents somehow, as they would get to keep their covers but instead of working for the KGB they work against them.
>>70628633
You using PSVue? Had the same shit happen to me

>>70631883

I liked this finale. It wasn't a game changer, but I think we've got a solid set-up for the final two seasons.

They're super fucking close to leaving the country, Philip's son is coming to America, and the FBI has a KGB bioweapons spy in custody. What are you talking about?
I was expecting Stan to come over and mention how Elisabeth looked beautiful for some reason. then Phillip say I'm a lucky guy. then Stan stand there remembering what William said then he's just standing there for ten minutes and finally Phillip offers him a beer and Stan says I think my kid is dicking your daughter

One of the most unrealistic aspects of the show is how everyone isn't floored by how stunning Elizabeth is all the time
>>70632526
i thought maybe Stan was going to see Phillip in the park but Phillip was able to rip off the wig in time. and Stan and Phillip have a quick conversation. the whole time Phillip has his fake mustache on

I also love how she always has her ovely hair draped across over her shoulder
goddamnit I didn't realize this was the season finale until I came on here and that kind of sucks
The final shot of the house was creepy as fuck
Maybe its just because I've read him too much but I got a real Dostoevsky vibe off this episode with physical/mental illness (the caught spy basically goes into classic brain fever) and the themes of family loyalty and particularly fatherhood seen on all sides

they're Russian. they're serving their country
really good episode, but a weird finally
wish something bigger had happened (let's be real, they're not going to leave the country) like henry being told or pastor tim finally being killed
only thing that confused me was how are the yanks able to kick arkady out? they have no proof and otherwise can't the russians have whoever they want there as "diplomats"?

>>70633432
During the Cold War the US and Russia kicked diplomats out of the country all the time. If spy operations were uncovered in the country, it wasn't uncommon for a diplomat to take the heat and be forced to leave the country as a sort of fall guy. I read a book called The Billion Dollar Spy about a Russian scientist who spied for the US while working in Moscow and it touched on this a bit. It's a really good book, most of the people here would probably like it, but as far as what happened to Arkady, it was historically accurate.

thanks m8

you didn't need a passport to travel between warsaw pact countries sort of like the EU is today. realistically he could make it to berlin and get over with a british passport
Did anyone else feel like the finale hinted at a paradigm shift within the Jennings family? Specifically Elizabeth and Paige getting closer while Philip feels more alone and isolated? Like maybe in the upcoming season it might be Paige and Elizabeth watching Philip's actions and talking about him behind his back? In the last scene, I felt like Elizabeth was watching Philip out the window the same way she was watching Stan.

that faggot was arrogant
hes the namefag in these threads who always tries to sound insightful and smart yet still have such a fucking stupid juvenile name

more like that one fag in every one of these threads

I thought she thought some shit was going down and sent Phil in as bait.
But Page needs to go throught some real shit before she gets Liz tier ruthless
>>70634549
meanwhile henry is a chronic masturbater who kills small animals and no one seems to notice
>>70634549
Definitely. Liz training Paige next season will be fun.
>Like maybe in the upcoming season it might be Paige and Elizabeth watching Philip's actions and talking about him behind his back?
This has already started happening with the EST thing.
>>70634617
That could be it too. I think Phil realized he was potential bait though, he went over there mainly to try and feel Stan out.
On an unrelated note, did anyone else think it was weird how excited Stan was about their kids messing around? It's one thing to be proud of your son for getting some action, but I wouldn't share that thought with the father of the girl.
>>70634652
I really hope henry does some crazy shit like killing someone or something.
Or just picks up a weed habit and becomes comedic filler
>>70634763
>henry becomes a pothead
>the jennings are forced to relocate back to the homeland
>henry smuggles weed into russia
>becomes first person in history to smoke herb in russia
>>70634549
>>70621304
any more of these?
>>70634756
Stan sees their families as bros and is excited that theyre getting together because he likes her and her family.
It just shows how much of a bro Stan is
Also predicting the past thing where Phil fucked the secretary is going to get brought up when stan finds out his son is fucking a dirty KGB spy

this
also just finished watching, felt kind of anti climatic ending with paige problems AGAIN

Yeah, quite a few actually.

i only just recently found out that they do this off camera together in real life
>>70634818
Actually I think that's it for what I have. There's someone who makes these and posts them in these threads occasionally, I've only saved a few it looks like but there are more floating around.
>>70635132
just for practice though, they're truly dedicated to their craft

>not getting the final sequence
Liz was "spying" on Philip. The last few episodes clearly showed Liz and Paige bonding and Paige getting more interested in spycraft. The opposite of Philip's development over the last seasons.
Paige is playing the game. Philip doesn't like it.
wtf was that ending I'm getting sick of this slow burn shit with no payoff
>>70637296
How can people still not understand that this show's approach to storytelling is way more similar to something like Mad Men or The Sopranos to say Breaking Bad. You have to read between the lines. What happened in this episode will have major effects on how the show moves forward.
>>70637474
>What happened in this episode will have major effects on how the show moves forward.
literally cannot right now literally
that's true for all fictional entertainment
you just wrote a whole paragraph to say nothing
>>70637579
If you think the only for of "pay-off" is seeing someone die or a big tweeest than you should watch another show probably. With the way The Americans has changed over its last two seasons, i would never expect them to pull some big suprise twists or use similar rather cheap storytelling devices just because that's what viewers expect from a season finale.
>>70637698
>If you think the only for of "pay-off" is seeing someone die or a big tweeest
No but I expect something to actually happen.
>>70637748
They got told that they will be sent back to Russia.
Paige is starting to be interested in learning spycraft.
William died and compromised everything they've been working on all season.
Arkady got fired.
Tatiana got his position.
Oleg will leave to Russia.
Philip's son is looking for him.
>nothing happened
wew lad
>>70637796:^) forgot yer tags m8 but I guess you're right, also they were given the choice to return they're not being sent
also I didn't really get into the William arc that much, I just didn't care

a host nation can expel diplomats at will by declaring them personae non gratae.
Does this look weird to anyone else?

AVC: That final shot of the Jennings’ house—it looks like it’s ported out of a horror movie. Was that the intention there? To make home look a little bit foreboding?
JF: That was exactly the intention. Chris Long directed that episode, and I remember him coming in after he read the script and saying, “I have an idea for our final image, which is to hang on the house and have it start to look like it’s haunted.” Not to hit it too hard, but to get the sense that the place that had been their home—there’s that word again—is now foreboding and scary.

I love this show, but goddamn sometimes the slowness is its downside. This episode didnt feel like a finale, but if you look at it it set soooo many things up for next season.
Philips son actually being real and not a ruse by Gabriel to get Philip to work and the son going to look for Philip.
Paige being interested in becoming a spy.
The baller of ballers, Arkady, being sent back to Russia, goddamnit.
The Martha departure episode felt more like a season finale than this. But William spilling some of the beans for Stan to piece everything together will be good for next season.
So why is Arkady being sent back? FBI has jack shit for proof that he had that stuff bugged or Gaad killed.

>She was going through a divorce
no she wasn't
she straight up cheated on her husband and then left him
>>70640792
They don't need proof, it's not like they're putting him on trial. They're just saying gtfo of our country, which they have the authority to do.
>my dick when this scene
The greatness come from the ambivalence: you don't if Philip is reacting that way because her daughter is playing Matthew and being a real operator, or if she's actually liking him, and Phil knows they can't compromise due to the fact that they may need to GTFO.
This shit is in top 5 best tv series of the genre ever made.
>>70616036
when are they going to wack Paige?
This show is so boring
>>70642227
Obviously there is the agent thing going on, but part of me just feels Phil is being protective of his daughter because that's what fathers do.
It was hilarious how excited Stan was, of course he is going to be, his son was getting some. It's different when it's your daughter.
the only thing that I liked about the ep, is Mikhail going to find Philip in the ´States
>>70642897
>´States
Who does this?
>You're a good son
WHAT DID THEY MEAN BY THIS?
