I don't think we can judge the books based on the initial planning by GRRM's. ASOIAF outgrew it. Jaime in particular is very, very different, though you can see remains of the character he was suppose to be in GoT, same with Sansa.
Now, back to what concerns Sansa, it's true she's more of an observer. She's there to be a window to KL outside of Tyrion, but unlike some others (Areo for ex) it was well constructed, because she was completely powerless and had literally no ally, also he personality and (lack of) maturity had a play in it. I dare say she was written better than some of the other Starks, for they weren't believable / natural at all.
Anyway, Sansa the character now was offered two choices, either she plays or be played (stay a "camera"). For now she dances Littlefinger's tune, but that may change if she has the opportunity and take it.

I just finished the last episode /got/, and I have to say that it was probably the best of the season so far. But I also must say that some of you are fucking retarded. Arya was Arya, not Jhaqen. Jhaqen was not fucking testing the waif by sending her after Arya, or while training her alongside Arya. The waif failed to deliver a painless execution of Arya's assassination and may be punished, that is all. How could any of you come to the conclusion that the girl who was stabbed was actually Jhaqen in Quasimoto-face? The scene immediately following the assassination attempt shows Arya fearfully glancing from person to person at the market, realizing that any of them could be after her. And as surprisingly well made as the episode was, it also reaffirmed that the show is sum-total shit. Arya just assumed that she'd be allowed to leave the Faceless Men freely? She decides not to use any of the skills taught to her over the past few seasons? I understand that these question are likely what lead you retards to believe that something fishy was going on, but you need to know that anything happening in the show has to be taken at face value.
