tyrion married a girl named tysha. tywin got pissed off because she was low born, so he got jaime and his army to convince tyrion that she was a whore and basically had everyone rape her, including tyrion.
jaime tells tyrion in that scene that she wasn't a whore and that tywin set up the whole thing. tyrion gets pissed off and tells jaime that he did in fact kill joffrey (he didn't) and that cersei was fucking a bunch of people behind jaime's back.
jaime slowly gets sick and tired of cersei's bullshit and gets kind of depressed. he goes off to the riverlands to fully end the war of the five kings, riverrun is the last remnants of the war. he's trying his best to end it diplomatically and peacefully instead of just killing everyone, because he's just tired of fighting.

the rivverun scenes aren't the problem, they were very accurate to the books.
the reasons for jaime wanting to end it fast and cleanly is the problem, he is doing it to get back to cersei, and that's it, not for duty, honor, or anything like that, just his sister's pussy.
