S6 feels relatively solid, with ep 1 starting with so my spare hype, it felt surreal (not immediately reviving Jon was a plus), and ep 4 and 5 actually being quite decent.
Then again, seasons 5 felt like a big slought, besides the last two episodes. I just can't see them wrapping up so many major plots so quickly in less than two seasons. And yeah, the Hodor scene was cheesy but I thought it was good. It was done, outside of battles, where shields were prefered (and you obviously wouldn't wanted to hit your fellow men either). However the most common form of dual wielding was done with an aiming sword in your guiding hand and a dagger or dagger-like swords in your weaker hand.

Chopping it off might save it, but since the disease travels through your blood and infects the entire body, you will probably end up becoming a stoneman anyway, just with a cleaved body part.
The disease takes over the body sorta like a sponge sucks up water, it could spread from the chest outward or from your legs up to your neck or vice versa. The reason why his arm shows the biggest signs of affliction might be because he was bitten/scratched/bruised there. It's the impact zone where he first contracted Greyscales.
