Anyone with average IQ knows this movie is a conveyor belt produced toy commercial and no sophomoric symbolism will change its obvious structure issues.

There was no hype for civil war.

It's simple, people wanted to watch the movie but people doesnt get hyped anymore.

BvS had tons of people hyped it to fail, people hyped about new memes, Kinoposters, people that hate snyder. Etc

With civil war it was: The spiderman suit sucks/is cool, MCU movies are for kids, and people mocking the shitty cgi. The civil war threads are already over, and now people is still talving about BvS. Same happened with MoS.

Memes and also over analyzing. I don't doubt that some of those essay length posts about the symbolism and thematic depth of the movie have some truth in them but the movie is poorly constructed and paced and the characters are pitifully under written and regardless of all the big ideas it might have they aren't executed well, and in the end it doesn't matter how many great ideas you have for your movie if you can't do them well. I think people liking the ideas rather than the final product are another reason it gets shilled so hard here as well as these people crave another intelligent well-made cape film that is different from Marvel.
>>

>I think people liking the ideas rather than the final product are another reason it gets shilled so hard here as well as these people crave another intelligent well-made cape film that is different from Marvel.

This.

Is as simple as that. The people shilling the movie forget about how it fails as a MOVIE, and just want to actually talk for hours about the ideas in the movie.
Action movies are getting dumber, and a bad movie is so far one of the few ones we can actually talk about.
>>
>>70101248

>>
The good outweighs the bad. I can barely remember CW. Painfully mediocre. I still understand why it had a better score, It was more conventionally "fun".

CW is the better blockbuster. BvS is the better film. I guess it all depends in what you were looking for.
>>

BvS fails as a film fundamentally
You fucking kids don't know what you're talking about and would say any dumb shit you can think of in order to pretend to have taste
>>
>>70100543

Honestly, the editing and pacing isn't that bad, it isn't half bad as people say it is

And it just gets the movie more confusing for the watcher witch isn't something that people hold agains't hold and hermetic Kino

I'd take this editing and pacing 30 times over any marvel movie.

At least it didn't take you for a fool
>>
>>70101440
How it fails as a movie? Other than having a non typical edition and pacing, which is not bad perse, just merely atypical.

I didnt like the choices they made with Lex (making him Joker Zuckerberg), but thats not really an argument against the quality of the movie. And his plan made sense at all times btw.

Agreed. Zimmer is god.
>Better action scenes than CW
>Nope. Sorry. Car scene in Civil War beat the crap out of the car chase in BvS. Airport is better than one-on-one and the final fight against Cap and Buck was way too perfect.
>Better acting than CW
To be honest, I didn't really pay that much attention on either film. Too much going on.
>Better cinematography/photography than CW
Nah. Everything at BvS seemed like it had been through a shitty filter.
>Better atmosphere than CW
I guess this is personal. But I enjoyed much more how Marvel conveyed the tension during the early part of the film and yet still managed to make it light-hearted. BvS was under constant threat of collapsing under its own seriousness.
>Better CGI than CW
Nope. I don't even see why we should care about Civil War's CGI when its fight scenes were made with real action and stunt doubles. Snyder's use of CGI was blatant, while on CW I couldn't even tell which scenes were CGI and which weren't. E.g. Bucky jumping out of a window was actually performed by a double.
>Better plot than CW
Yeah, right. "Martha?" Please, DCuck. I was so disappointed. I was skeptical until the point when I heard Nolan was the executive producer, then I started to believe. Just compare to the Dark Night saga and tell me there is any plot to it. Marvel's been building the plot for CW for TWO movies (CA2 and A2). Plot keeps going on while working with 10 characters at once. DC had 3 and couldn't make a decent one out of it. I have never read a single Cap and only read three or four Iron Man's, yet I was way more invested than I was in Batman, despite having played three games, read two graphic novels, watching the Justice League and two of his cartoons.
>>
>>70102937
Continuing
CW actually had a whole debate behind its fights that couldn't be ignored by simply saying "Hey! Listen!". Cap had his reasons, Tony had his and no amount of conversation could solve that. Neither Batman or Superman had great reasons for fighting and even less to stop fighting. "Hey! Our mothers have the same names, let's not kill each other!" In what universe this is not retarded?

People who analyze Batman V Superman like they would any other superhero movie (realistic plot etc) are on the wrong trail from the beginning. You have to review and understand it as an European arthouse film and not like a superhero movie. BvS just tried to create a kinography with the non-narrative nature of european art cinema. It's possibly more useful to be educated in film theory than being an capeshit connaisseur if you're going to watch it. While most people nail him with Sigmund Freud, there is also a notable portion of Lacan in his work; he wants to pull the capeshit audience in front of the mirror, make capeshit aware of itself, deconstruct it like any other art form. Batman V Superman was an attempt to ennoble superhero movies as a legitimate form of art.

ASO is a simple comparison, but on a deeper level it's really more comparable to Bergman's Persona in mood and structure. I immediatly understood Batman V Superman after watching Persona, it just fell into place for me like a missing puzzle piece.

I think the most tragic aspect of Batman V Superman is the fact that Schnyder wanted to create high-profile arthouse kino and totally crush the genre and capeshit-ism in particular, yet ironically the next generation totally abused his innovations for the exact opposite. When Batman V Superman was a deconstruction of superhero movies, its stereotypes regarding plot and character, post-BvS producers used them to generate new clishées and generating a completly new capeshit-dom, 1000 times more intense than the one before. This way, Schnyder is partly responsible for the current state of capeshit, filled with quips and mediocre marvel movies. It's pretty notable that the Superflat worldgen-type was inspired by and ultimately necessary because of Batman V Superman.
>>
>>70105437
CW has nothing to do with "deepness" or "logic" or whatever bullshit

after the first avengers movie the mcu has functioned more as sets where the audience is basically hanging out with the character onscreen the 'quips' the 'lightness' all pretty much proves that when people watch these movies the experience is like hanging out with a friend. the actual dramatic beats are there more to check off story points
the trend goes more and more in this direction

I loved that part where despite Lex having no ability to actually know where they are or why they would be there or which one won or whether superman fled everyone follows his plan.

What if superman literally just flew out of sight and then started searching for his mother? He has fucking superspeed and vision, easy as pie.

Not to mention how Batman conveniently was setting up his entire plan to beat superman right as Lex was using his plan.

Or how superman continues to try and close the distance between each other rather than just backing off.

Or how the fight ends because he says "MARTHA" in the most formal possible way.

Never mind the fact he has super hearing and the ability to save Lois in a heartbeat whenever or wherever she is in danger.

But when Martha needs to be captured, he's merged for the sake of plot.

I get that Supes is the living plot device and DCs big boring I win button but at least TRY to keep consistent with his abilities in the same fucking scene...

BvS is just a recent example. Other flip flops include Nolan, True Detective season 2, Only God Forgives, Avatar, and my first experience with this board was these dorks defending Transformers 2 soon after its release.

There's already an image here of what his plan was that's over a month old. The only part of it I don't agree with is why Lex expected his extortion to work. It's not all that elastic.

But that's just "pasta" and "autism" so it doesn't count to smug assholes.

It's interesting how you try to answer a question I didn't ask.

I'm talki g purely about Superman's speed and ability to save Lois and Martha. For one it transcends distance and logic, he acts and reavcts lime some kind of Super MSN, for the other he seems to forget he can hear cloiuds scraping together or has super speed or xray vision or any number of other methods to find his Mummy Dearest.

The fact he saves Lois at the drop of a hat but is crippled to save his Mother makes no sense and you know it.

>>
When someone tells you something you like is shit you start to defend it. When the general consensus is that a movie was shit you start to defend it more often. When you have to keep defending it, the major flaws start to feel like minor flaws and you start to love and notice the pros more and think of the flaws less.

So Batman vs Superman wasn't an inherently bad movie, more of a disappointment really. So this will prompt people to defend it here more frequently and more passionately. Obviously this movie has a wider audience so it'll have more people that have the opportunity to defend it whether they think it's getting unjust hate, just really want to like it or straight up memeing. Then people who either havent made up their mind on the movie yet or havent seen it, watch/remember the movie similarly though the power of suggestion. Combine this with 4chans herd mentality and elitist mentality about things and you get "kino".

really? when has nolan ever done anything close to that intensity outside of the joker? even then, you know what's coming with a nolan scene
the way that specific scene plays out, one element is introduced at a time, adding information and context all with no definite expectation set, you don't know what the cop is going to see when he gets up there, and when he does his vision focuses and he's surprised by what he sees. even there, i'm pretty sure nolan has never messed around with camera focus

The only time Nolan ever came close to that scene, in my opinion, was the warehouse scene in Batman Begins. It's the only time that the Nolan Batman had that supernaturaly creature of the night sort of vibe. Loved that scene.

Also, I hope they keep it coming with the super high-tech gadgets, too. I think they could do interesting things with the whole voice modulator concept.
