What happened? Why did almost all threads about this movie die the minute the movie came out? Even Winter Soldier got way more post-release discussion than this movie did.

You can't really discuss civil war. All people really discuss is "was tony/cap right".

There's nothing to dissect, nothing to analyze. It's a surface level superhero comedy full of quips and no stakes, with no depth.

Not that that's a bad thing.
>>
>>69928838

we should discuss little known gems like Krampus and Ant-Man instead

It's a pretty average movie that is neither really good nor really bad.

Therefore there isn't much to left to discuss now that it's been out for like a month, and there also isn't a whole lot to shitpost about either. (Unlike a certain other movie that involves super heroes fighting.)

Americans are so stupid.

Almost everything you produce is garbage, and it shows with threads like these

You can never amount to the status that Canada has achieved.

Hell, I made a thread about quintessential Canadian television a few days back, and that thread was a phenomenal success

But you people who outnumber Canadians here have all the chances to make this place better, but instead you post stupid retarded shit like this

The thread I made earlier, you fat fucks, has proven that Canadian TV is hands down the better.

In fact, Canadian EVERYTHING is better.

We have better books, clothes, holidays, food, women (who don't want you), healthcare, and an overall sense of happiness here.

As opposed to AMERICA, Where over there you people are fat, miserable, shoot at each other all day, have a huge gap in income inequality, hate minorities and women, and have the highest stats in the world for crime

You fat fucks truly deserve Trump

What's funny is, is despite all of that, you Amerifats love to say that "Canada is an irrelevant nation", but the truth is is that you are fat asses who are jealous of everything we are.

Fuck you America.

You fat cunts.

You stupid pigs.

You unbelievable mongrels.

You are a nation in decline.

Your women are sluts, and your mothers are fat pigs.

When my country finally destroys yours in the coming conflicts, the rest of the world will truly be able to see how great and amazing Canada is, not only for slaughtering you like the pigs you are, but also for saving the world from your degeneracy.

A movie in /tv/ only gets a bigger treatment than flavor of the week for two reasons.

1) It's a bad movie.

2) It has spawned some meme.

Civil War did neither.
It was a nice little movie, it was a success both comercially and critically, and people on social media seemed to love it.
There's no discussion about it because there's nothing to shitpost about.

TDKR gets a lot of ''discussion'' while TDK doesn't get any.
Why?
Baneposting.

BvS gets a lot of discussion.
Why?
Either it's some thread doing damage control, or it's baiting DCfags.

Mad Max Fury Road, does it get any discussion?
No, maybe one thread a month.
Why?
Because it was a nice movie that only spawned one meme that had no legs to stand on.

Steven Seagal suddenly has been discussed heavily, why?
Because he makes horrible, meme-bait movies.

The prequels also get plenty of discussion.
Why?
Because it's fun laughing at theme and because of the memes.

Now head to /co/, there's not much BvS discussion because it's already been discussed to death, it came out a month early, and there's been a constant stream of Civil War threads for over a month already.
Why?
Because mods actually do their work and delete shitposting in no time.
That's the place you want to go to if you want to discuss superhero movies.

/tv/ isn't a place to discuss movies and shows, it's a place to shitpost about movies and shows.
If there's no discussion, it's because there's nothing to shitpost about.
>>
>>69930940

This.

It's impossible to discuss a movie, the plot of which would have been solved if Cap shared the information about the bad guy with Tony from the start, instead of trying to fight him.

And BOOM goes the conflict. There's no other reason for them to fight (unlike the comics, where the superhuman registration thing was THE thing to fight about, - here it doesn't even make any sense, since Spiderman is only starting, whereas he should have revealed his identity if this was really Civil War)

There is no depth, the name is a lie, the plot is an excuse for a fight of quippers.

There's nothing to discuss. If you go to a fancy restaurant and order an exciting new dish, you'll want to talk about it afterwards, perhaps even recommend it to friends and family.

But if you go to McDonalds and order a cheeseburger, there's nothing to talk about because you already know what you're getting and so does everybody else.

It's a fairly middling, forgettable, and bland movie. It has some interesting moments and is pretty damn well paced but there isn't much more I can say that I liked about it aside from the acting and Spider-Man. The Accords should have been a big deal but they end up being just another plot device to break up the team. The conflicts are superficially interesting but when you actually think about any of the motives behind them, it sort of falls apart. The key characters don't really act as you'd have expected them to considering their portrayal in all the previous films. There are some incredible performances delivered with such conviction that (along with the film's decidedly more 'mature' and 'serious' tone) it can be easy to overlook the poorly written story and characters. The cinematography is a major let down and doesn't do justice to what's some terrific choreography. It's just a very bland movie to look at and visually there's very rarely anything to exciting going on. All in all it's an entertaining movie but it was a few steps back from Winter Soldier. It's really made me question the Russo's ability to handle Infinity War.

You should direct your rage to Snyder, not to me.
He's the one that made BvS fail.
>>
There's not enough things to bitch and complain about. I can't even make any epic memes out of this shit like I can with DC kino.
>>
When a movie is mostly agreed by all to be good, there isn't a whole lot to discuss. Bvs on the other hand is crawling in so many flavours of shit that alone is worth a rant or two. yet there is also a faint hint of capekino which will make bvs rememebered by all.

how long has Batman v. Superman been out again DCuck?
>>
>While it’s meant to share its title with a comicbook mini-series of the same way, what makes the movie’s structure, action, and character beats so interesting is how Directors Anthony and Joseph V. Russo chose to have the “Civil” of Civil War be the more prominent aspect of the film. The Avengers exist on a strange precipice the likes of which they’ve only experienced fleetingly during the onset of the second Avengers film; one of power and relative security. There is no enormous invading force to thwart or an overt crisis of brobdingnagian stature to stymy. Victory has stripped them of their statuses as eleventh hour underdogs and the intellectual focus shifts from the usual question of “How to stop a vile wrongdoing?” to “How to do good right?”

>Pros and cons are passed between the opposing sides. Evidence is brought up and cases are made. These talks are eerily devoid of the insidousness one would usually expect from such a politically-charged movie. There are no secret agendas or conscious tones of duplicity. The protagonists genuinely believe in the validity of their stances and that makes it difficult for them to reconcile with the opposite camp and puts the audience at a disadvantage when it comes to choosing which team to root for.

>Amidst these disputes are quiet moments shared between teammates. The Vision (Paul Bettany) and Scarlet Witch (Elizabeth Olsen) share their reservations on how the people they protect fear them. Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson) travels a great distance to be there for Steve during a funeral. All these well-crafted encounters stress that the Avengers are all in fact fully realized characters who deeply care for one another and wish this issue and the schemes it is facilitating were not slowly breaking their bonds; tightly holding hands until the first act’s detonation blows apart all their fingers.
>>
>In spite of that, “Civil” persists. Even those that wish to defy authority in their pursuit of justice don’t necessarily want to hurt the authorities. This is best expressed in how Captain America went from fighting Nazis during his first movie (who he could neutralize with extreme prejudice), to the compromised SHIELD organization during his second (the members of whom could be enemies in disguise), to well-meaning law enforcers and his fellow Avengers in the third (who are most definitely not villans). That’s more prevalent for Steve because he’s the main character, but all of the Avengers from the previous films have this same issue. They can’t cut loose on these heroes they disagree with like they did against hostile aliens and insurgents. Rather than neutering the suspense however, this shared desire to not hurt the other side too badly just ratchets up the tensions because neither side wants to lose.
>>
>A delightful consequence of this intent is that, not only do those exquisitely chereographed and inventive hand-to-hand combat sequence get longer, but the overall action becomes creative by necessity and the resulting spectacle correlates directly to the challenges posed to each hero’s skillset. How can Scarlet Witch use her telekinesis to toss away the opposition without breaking every bone in their bodies? How does War Machine (Don Cheadle), an armored champion loaded with missile launchers and gattling guns, perform a non-lethal takedown on hardy opponents? Answering either of these questions here would be a disservice to anyone that hasn’t seen the film yet, but to illustrate the nature of these undeniably kinetic, but strangely sensible solutions, there’s a point where Bucky Barnes has to escape down an apartment building stairwell, but he’s blocked by a squad of German commandoes. He doesn’t want to kill any of them, but they’d overwhelm him if he attempts to nonlethally subdue them head-on. So to bypass this obstacle, he uses his cybernetic arm and super strength to dislodge the hand railing next to him and use it as an improvised metal rope to swing himself down to a lower landing. Impressive as that sounds, it’s shadow boxing compared to the airport brawl between Team Cap and Team Iron Man where every pulled punch is just a prelude to a bigger and weirder mode of attack, and nothing when set alongside the horrific closing grudge match where “Civil” finally dies a most catastrophic death.

Fuck that, the last fight sequence that may have come about through slightly flawed reasons, is great. Blockbusters are missing this shit.

BvS at least has religious symbolism to talk about.

Civil War doesnt hav anything worthwhile to talk about
>>
>>69928380
Disney always plays it safe, and the audience loves it regrettably. It's like those autists that eat tendies for lunch everyday and never complain.
>>
>>69941954
Don't forget it getting sped up in post production. It made things look very unnatural.
>>
>>69928380
Anyone else really enjoy it? I wanted to be cynical but I ended up pleasantly surprised by how everything turned out. It wasn't perfectly made but overall pretty good, some of the best capeshit I've seen in a while. The airport fight was really satisfying in particular.
