I don't know why everyone hates this costume so much. The only costume I didn't really dig was the Age of Ultron costume because there was too much arbitrary red.
I can see why a more dignified or "realistic" costume would be appealing, but I guess to me, a more comic book-y, outlandish costume is strangely more humanizing. Think about it: Here's a guy who fought for his country (and the world at large) and thought he ultimately gave his life for it. Instead of dying with grace, his nigh-immortal superhuman status means he gets to wake up to a world where the woman he loves is dead, his closest friend is an enemy assassin, and he's still got to wear a fucking superhero costume like it's the same gee-wiz war bond advertising comic book as before. That probably wasn't Whedon's intent, but that's why I feel for the guy: The costume is a reminder of everything the world used to mean to him. It's a like a lie he has to wear as a second skin.

It was more entertaining because RDJ and Paul Rudd are more charismatic actors than anyone in Winter Soldier. But it was nowhere near as tight or gripping as WS, which was a pretty solid action thriller. Civil War got bogged down by all the expanded universe shit. Considering they had to balance the actual story with setting up Wanda/Vision, setting up a Black Panther film, setting up Spider-Man, setting up Cap/Sharon, and putting together a jarringly out-of-tone Avenger v Avenger airport fight, the movie is incredibly well scripted. But with so much on its plate, I left the theater wanting more Cap/Tony, Cap/Bucky, and Zemo (the main antagonist). You know, the heart of the movie.

No. Winter Soldier is way more focused and explores characters better because it has more time to do so. Civil War has too much going on simultaneously and it prevents the movie from reaching its peak potential.
Civil War is good though, probably #3 in MCU only behind Winter Soldier and GotG. If it had more time to flesh out Tony's and Cap's personal conflict and rivalry it would be 10/10.Like add Tony's flashbacks to his father talking how great Cap compared to Tony and show Tony's resentment being carried out to present. Or at least one scene where Cap and Tony are actually on good terms before them breaking apart. That's just their take on it, though. It was a bunch of fuss about stupid people thinking she was saying she was a monster because she was sterile, when she simply said the two things near to each other, in a talk also including a past in which she killed innocent people.
She was, of course, saying she felt like a monster because of her violent past, and also informing a potential mate that her scars were not only psychological, but also left her physically unable to fulfill the normal long-term purpose of a romantic relationship. It's coming out in kind of a jumble because strong emotions are making it hard for her.
She's talking to Bruce Banner, who turns into a ragemonster and god knows what his kids would turn out as. They're both monsters in some sense of the word, it's better if he's with someone who can't have kids, and they could comfort each other. She's trying to snap him out of his self-pity, but gets wrapped up in her own.
It's a nice piece of dialogue, the kind of thing you expect from Joss Whedon.

I grew up reading Captain America comics, and he did a lot of solo adventures. I don't know why they made the MCU Cap movies all about S.H.I.E.L.D. and the Avengers.
Cap's not a scientist or highly educated, but he's smart in every other way, always knows what's morally right, and never flinches from it. He's not arrogant and thoughtless like Thor, or overconfident, self-indulgent, and emotionally unbalanced like Tony. He doesn't have a dark past or underlying sense of unworthiness, like Black Widow and Hawkeye.
All he needs are interesting villains: strong, pure samples of human evil in different flavors. This is key: he fights human opponents who have made bad moral choices, darker than simple criminality or psychopathic insanity. They have to feel justified, and they have to be wrong. If there's a space god and an alien invasion, Cap has to be put up against their human collaborators, who have some appalling ideology.

Captain America wears a chainmail shirt. He's solidly built, and not pasty white. He's an experienced man who's been through a war, and looks like that rather than like a kid who's had a soft life. He wears a tight-fitting mask/hood, or a helmet, he doesn't wear something that's halfway between being a hood and a helmet, that makes him look like he has a huge head.
Comic art style is often to draw the character as naked with their costume painted on, often in bright primary colors. Thoughtless, superficial imitation of this style has no place in film, where you need to take the comic book style only as inspiration for something that looks good in a photograph of a human being in the real world.
