Thrusting is not allowed, and using the sword as a lever would count as thrusting.
Weapons are mostly used to smash people in the head to disorient them and to sweep legs, but they do get used if say competitor 1 is running to shove competitor 2, then competitor 3 can smash him with a halberd of axe or mace and knock him over without exposing himself to being grappled by competitor 1.
Dany is at her worst when some action is taking place. When she's at peace, she's just dumb.
If she arrives to Westeros and faces armies, she'll burn them to the bones, capture prisoners and have them executed, their children included. Or worse.

Alexander was a master tactician and strategist, he also knew how to actually run a city, how to maintain it's economy, etc.
Daenery's hasn't actually fought any wars yet, she just free's slaves and lets them overthrow the slavers, and she has economically ruined every city she has taken over.
If she ever comes in to contact with an experienced army that has no slaves she fucked. Though I believe the plot armour she has will save her, she will literally take the Iron Throne on plot armour alone.

Whatever happened exactly we don't know 100%, but he changed the world by setting the Greek dynasties to Egypt, Persia etc. That was when the age of white man began and continued with Rome.
