He sent his son Quentyn to marry Daenerys and with the dragons overthrow the Lannisters/Baratheons and reinstate the Targaryen and Martell house.

Dorne is supposed to have an advantage in terms of climate. The heat/desert, so the idea (at least in the books) is that KL has to send a force out to bring them in line. As you note, who pays for that? The Tyrell generosity toward the Lannisters should be coming to an end and the Iron Bank is already financing other houses against the Lannisters. Otherwise it's going to be the usual asymmetrical warfare playbook; hit and run tactics, poison, sabotage, etc. In the show it's going to be20 good snakes.
