aside from the pilot, S1 is pretty good. It's rather heavy handed with the "THIS IS KINDA WHAT CONSERVATIVE PATRIOTS ARE LIKE LOL", but they find their stride fairly early on, i'm surprised how consistent it is throughout the seasons, the biggest change being the increase in roger-centric episodes, likely to bring in one-off characters via his personas, but whatever.
I always thought bullock got crazier as seasons progressed but he's basically been like that from the start
