What was so wrong with signs that people didn't like it? It's a well done movie, it holds up now even too. It's plot was weak, but for SCI-FI that's on par...
I thought it was interesting because it could have gone a few different directions, first time viewing it was hard to guess how it would end, and it's not an unsatisfactory ending.
