Just finished it, didn't expect to like this show as much as I did.

What did you think of it?
>>
nobo watched it baka
>>
Good. But I hated how they delayed making Henry fat and old until literally the very end, at which point it became ridiculous.
>>
>>68077309
Why is the last season such shit? I'm stuck somewhere in the first few episodes. Also

>that Henry accent shift
What the actual fuck?
>>
Everyone is unlikeable except Henry Cavill and Jane Seymour
>>
>>68078032
because they realized "oh fuck a bunch of stuff happened and we only have a few episodes left"
>>
>>68077309
is that his harem?
>>
>>68078032
Catherine Howard was pretty interesting, but the Boulogne plot went on for too long.

As for the accent.. At this point in life he was supposed to weigh like 136 kilos. The actor decided to give him an "overweight voice."
>>
>>68078032
Also I think Meyers's accent shifted because he was trying to sound old, and slipped into sounding way too Irish. Maybe that's me, I can't tell that well being American and unused to non-burger dialects
>>
>>68078157
pretty much
>>68077309
the show didn't focus enough on elizabeth or mary. It was called "the tudors" but followed pretty much only henry
>>
It's fine. Second season is the best if only because it seems like all the actors were bringing their A game, and the writing for the characters was less soap opera ridiculous. I remember reading that Natalie Dormer basically begged the writers to make Anne more like the historical version so that probably had something to do with it. And of course like any historical show it makes everything more dramatic and scandalous for entertainment purposes and in some cases narrative purposes, so.

I did think it was interesting--though I don't know if it was intentional--that the show made Thomas Culpepper a douchebag. Namely because of some recent fresh looks at the surviving correspondence between Culpepper and Catherine Howard suggests he may have been blackmailing her or otherwise taking advantage of her. They didn't go quite that far in the show--she's clearly enamored with him in the series--but hey.

Does anyone else love the moments in the show where thinks are unexpectedly creepy? I'm thinking of the scenes where there were sudden ghosts or visions of dead bodies or that one moment in season 4 where you almost see Anne in a crowd of ladies.

it would have been amazing to go to at least Mary's reign and death with Sarah Bolger as Mary.
>>
>>68078475
I wish we saw more of François 1er, he was an interesting king but didn't appear during the second half of the show.

Favorite scenes in the show? Wolsey's death scene, coupled with the court performing that play, was fantastically done.

Loved the homage Hirst did in Vikings
>>
>>68077309
Great show, though they kind of ran out of time at the end and crunched a lot of material about his life. Should it called it Young Henry or something instead.
>>
>>68078857
Catherine Howard dancing the night before her death, the voiceover was pretty cool.

Most of the execution scenes were memorable. Anne Boleyn's sticks out the most for me: https://youtu.be/z8hcYGS6P3s?t=346

Wish they would have kept going after Henry, though I get why they didn't. I'd love a proper depiction of Jane Grey in a TV series... the film made everything bizarrely romantic and idealistic between Jane and Guilford.

The writers of this show are the same ones that are doing the Vikings.

If you had seen this show before you can see that they are really hacks.
>>
>>68079569
Because Elizabeth has been done so many times before, and even while this show was airing there were like 3 or 4 different elizabeth movies and shows running.

England has to keep digging these assholes up because most of the kings in their history were tyrants.
>>
>>68081868
Jane was before Elizabeth though?
>>
>>68082101
could have filled an episode at best.

Id like a Victorian age show that wasn't just romance porn for spinsters.

Such a glorious age that never gets represented.

Then again these days it would end up just being a huge cuckfest of white guilt.

Thanks Jews!

I wish we could see Oliver Cromwell fuck shit up. I'm surprised there hasn't been a series or movie about him considering his vast military conquests.

i didn't think anything of it I didn't watch it. What a stupid question

There's only music in the original scene
What's your point

Why doesn't the BBC do a show on WIlliam the Conqueror?

He's basically an archetype villain. The evil and ambitious man that becomes the Regent to control all of Britain. I'd imagine a film/show about that period would present the Royalists in the best light.
>>
>>68083629
It's a tough call. Charles I definitely got what was coming to him, but the Commonwealth went off the rails quickly.

There was one in 1970 senpai

Quite the opposite, Charles is portrayed as a useless fop while Cromwell is an impeccable flawless hero
