It's not really the jokes but rather how everything is delivered, they overexplain stuff and expect you to laugh when they say something that is the opposite of that thing, it's like stripping the substance of classic simpsons and leaving the barebones with a fuck ton of pop culture references and topical garbage. The animation is abhorrent too, who the fuck thought this "HD" look was good? Cheap, maybe but certainly not good, it doesn't feel any newer and it has zero charm, honestly the work of an animation student who could only work 5 frames a second at most.

It's really bad. Notice how they try to reduce how many angled shots they have to do? Almost everything are standard horizontal shots.
The colors. The digipaint tends to be overly bright.
Stiff motion. They use the same techniques as a lot of anime. Drawn on paper, but the inbetweens are done on a computer program. Results in very stiff robotic like motion.
I really do believe that 2D animation is a dying art form.
