The Terminus cliffhanger was great. And the Walking Dead have decent cliffhangers.
Specifically with the season six cliffhanger as another said from yesterday thread. In the comics, it happened unexpectedly and Negan brutalized a beloved character, it was completely shocking because nobody in Rick's group had died for awhile and Rick was defenseless, unable to save Glenn, he had to watch in terror. And the aftermath, Rick was left in a hopeless situation simply looking at Glenn's bludgeon head.
In the television show all of that lost its impact with the cliffhanger and made the death meaningless by turning it into a "Guess who die" game.

If we are supposed to believe these shots represent the first-person view of just one person, then we know the person being beaten at the end has to be someone that was in the van, since the show opened with their view of the light from inside the van. The only other things we can discern from these first-person shots in the van is the back of someone's head... Daryl's head... and that the angle also appears to be the passenger's side of the van. Negan had plenty of people covering every contingency. Negan wanted to teach Rick a massive lesson after getting humiliated with all those prior Saviors getting killed.
Negan wanted to psychologically destroy Rick's group. They thought that the Saviors were typical bandits; guys that they could easily blitz through. But the fact that they're this well-organized is precisely why the roadtrip on the RV was scary as fuck. There's no way out.
Their only choice was to do something completely out of left field; something that Negan wouldn't have expected. Like a bum rush across an alternate path or something.

I'll also say, in regards to my thinking that it is Michonne, the only other thing we really have to go on is Negan's comment "Look at you, taking it like a champ!" I think it fits Michonne's attitude that she wouldn't puss out after the first hit.
Also, I'd like to eliminate who I think it ISN'T. We know it isn't Rick or Carl, because Negan says to pull out Carl's other eye and feed it to Rick if anyone tries anything while he's beating on the victim. I assume it isn't Abraham, because he was noticeably defiant to Negan, and I think Negan would be less likely to kill the one person in the line up that looks like they're okay with taking the beating. If anything, Negan would make sure it isn't that kind of person, because he'd get more gratification in having that kind of person watch. I don't think it is Maggie or Glenn, because they were the only ones with a big emotional response, and Negan said "the first one's free" and he'd let it slide. I don't think it is Eugene, because they tried too hard to give him a send off, with the hugging Abraham, and the sad music as he climbed into the RV.
That only leaves Rosita, Michonne, Daryl, and Aaron. Killing Rosita and Aaron at this point would be a bitch move, because nobody REALLY cares about them, and if they are actually killing a "major character", Rosita or Aaron would be a total cop-out. So that brings me back to Daryl and Michonne, and between the two of them, I think Michonne is toast.
