I thought it was a fine season. It didn't surpass the first one, but everything revolving around Frank was excellent.
I'm curious what the production around this season was like because I kept getting the sense that they weren't completely sure what they wanted to do with it. As the season progresses the focus shifts pretty sharply from Frank to Elektra/The Hand shit, and then the Punisher storyline sorta just loses focus and stumbles around.
It felt really out of place when Frank appeared during the final fight only to shoot a few guys and then leave. They should've just had the season be between Matt and Frank and left all the Hand shit for another season.

Honestly, better than season 1.When Wilson met frank i almost gizzed my pants. Also loved the way they showed that Frank had no regrets in the end of his trial. I was starting to think they were going to fix him.

They were foreshadowing the big guys importance no puns, in the first season that Sticks was reporting to, but didnt show him at all this season?

Punisher stuff was the best of the series, Hand was a missed opportunity. I love the idea of Daredevil defending Frank on trial, too bad it didn't really happen. I liked a lot of the ideas of the ninja stuff but it wasn't given enough focus and it didn't really blend with the other half of the season. I really would have preferred it if they split that stuff up among two seasons. I liked Elektra's character a lot and I also actually liked Foggy and Karen this time around too. Wilson Fisk stole the show again too. Overall the biggest problem was a lack of focus, not as good as the first but pretty great overall still.

Punisher was great. Prison arc was great. Basically anything besides Elektra and The Hand was great. It felt like they ran out of ideas and JUST decided: Fuck it, let's throw in the ninjas.

I think this was the worst part about the ninja fuckers. Daredevil lit the guy on fire in the first season, then in the second to last episode he kicks is ass in a few seconds while escaping. In the comics I think the hand worship a literal demon so I understand why they didn't want to bring that in but you could have come up with something better to end the season with.

There was no orchestrated massacre, the one armed man's crew didn't show up because they knew it was a sting. The shooting started when some gangsters got paranoid. Frank and his family were simply in the wrong place at the wrong time.
Frank had no idea the colonel was even a drug lord, otherwise he'd have gone after him to start with. He only realized it when his former military buddies confronted him on the boat.

He lovely tenders Karen while saving her, he confesses that Elektra is more important to him than the city, and in the end he is obviously trying to get it on with the redhead.

Karen and Foggy are only good as far as their interactions with Matt. When they're on their own for literally 3/4 of the season, it sucks. It was really terrible to have all three so separated the whole time.
Elektra's actress was good but her arrival and storyline ruined the season. This easily could have been a whole season of Frank and Matt's unavoidable tension mixed with weird camaraderie. It felt like they grabbed another storyline out of nowhere and wedged it into the middle of a perfectly good season. Then Frank's storyline spiraled off into fuck knows what. Everything was so disjointed in the second half of the season.

I like it. The show started going off the rail at the end of season 1, and this kind of improved it a bit.
Enjoyed the show while watching it and thinking about it in retrospect until i remember the giant gaping whole in the ground, the big guy that Sticks reports to in season one, the whole blood thing with the kids and the coffin that totally went unexplained.

True but I think the whole thing highlighted the problem with the ninja plotline. None of it felt like it had any gravity, especially after Frank's harsh, grounded plot. All the mysticism and "Black Sky" and twinkle-toed ninja after twinkle-toed ninja going down one by one felt so silly after the first 4 episodes.
It got terrible when Matt went off to fight ninjas and all of Frank's scenes happened with Karen. Matt fucked off completely from the only interesting plotline.
