This is too far in the other direction. Ancalagon is obscenely large, in the sense that he's probably several kilometers long.

Literally no way Godzilla could lose.
It would be suicide for Smaug to try and get in close - Godzilla would wreck him. All he could do is fly around and breathe fire, but Godzilla is impervious to heat.
Besides, Godzilla has fought King Ghidorah several times and he's basically a bigger, badder Smaug.

what we needed was a full on human-predator alliance.
i don't know set in the future, bad predators release aliens on a human colony on an asteroid and the government sends marines to fight them at the same time a group of predators is nearby and decides to go hunting and then find themselves docking next to the humans and somehow the humans ask for help(establishing this is the future and they have had contact with the race before) fighting the aliens off and then the evil predators, would be dope.
