Kylo Ren takes down Finn after knocking the lightsaber out of his hand. With Finn comatose Ren uses the force to grab Finn's lightsaber, only for it to go flying past into Rey's hands. There's then a battle, and the untrained Rey manages to overcome Kylo Ren. Aside from the dubious battle, considering training in the force, I felt the script lended itself better to Finn and constructed him as a more likable/relatable character and the switcheroo towards the end of the movie was unsettling.

See this is something Ive pondered. Little BOYS like Star Wars, they play with Star Wars toys, the roleplay as the characters. Who the fuck do they have to do any of that shit with in these new movies. Rey? Little boys dont play with female action figures, this holds true even with the original star wars toys. Finn? Well yea theres one, but hes not the Jedi, the character kids actually want to be or play as.
I have a nephew whom I showed a magazine and told him to point out what he wanted and he just looked at the book unsure. When I showed him the older stuff he was pointing things out left and right, there was things that appealed to little boys and nerds. They made a horrible miscalculation with these new movies, theyre aiming for an audience that simply doesnt care instead of focusing on the audience that loves it.

You know what bugs me in Star Wars, including the prequels? We're just told that the villains are evil, but we aren't told of anything villainous that they did before the events of the movies. Why was there a rebellion against the Empire? Why was there a war against the Separatists? Why is there a resistance against the First Order? We're given reasons to hate them eventually, like when the Empire blows up Alderaan, but that doesn't explain why we're supposed to consider them the villains right away.

I wouldn't have a problem with the crossguard if it weren't for the fact it's separated from the main beam. Like if you "lock" blades with somebody and they slide the saber down to the crossguard couldn't it just slice right through the hilt since it's not actually part of the beam, essentially rendering it useless? think back to how many edits there are of 'confused boyega' image or how many HOL UP U SAYIN WE JEDI pastes there were over the months. They didn't release a trailer where Rey is seen speaking her lines or doing any actual acting until a month after ticket sales went up.
They also had an early stage of hyping up Oscar who is in the film for like 10 minutes tops. They absolutely, positively tried to divert attention away from her, I have no doubt in my mind. And having seen it it is very clear why.
