Good God this movie was mediocre. What I'm about to write will contain spoilers, so be warned.
First off, the movie was basically a rehash of the New Hope. Instead of blowing up a death star they blow up a BIG death star. By destroying one central weakness.
The Ren character is forgettable, has basically no character development, and took off his helmet to reveal his acne ridden face way too early.
Rey learns to use the force way too quickly, supposed to take years of training, even Luke and Anakin had to train for years.
It's also littered with plot holes, like how the new big death star was built by a new empire weaker and more poor than the old one, but able to build a weapon several times more expensive, without slave labor, when the old, richer empire nearly went bankrupt building the smaller one WITH slave labor.
The big death star also works by SUCKING IN THE STAR of the system, which first off would crush everyone on the planet as the insane mass would instantly cause fusion, no matter how many "heat oscillators" you got on there. Even so, it makes NO sense to build it at all. It's basically an EXTREMELY expensive project that takes YEARS AND YEARS, if not decades, and it can be fired ONCE. ONCE.
Also, why were all the commanders and generals so fucking young? Like no one even breached 35.
And why were they so surprised Finn decided to fuck off and desert? Surely he's not the first soldier to do so ever? They acted like it was a HUGE deal. They should be dealing with that a lot, or it's a MAJOR coincidence he just happens to do it on the planet with the main character.
Don't even get me started on all the bullshit deus ex machina and convenient shit that happened throughout either.
The whole movie is forgettable.
