30 years from now CGI has finally reached absolute photorealism and voice generation can simulate convincingly any accent, tone and speech pattern. The uncanny valley is a concept of the past.
The TV giant Netflixtech Megacorp Inc. issues a poll to let the users decide wich vintage TV show / movie will be the first in the catalogue of "Netflix Lazarus".
>Name one TV show or movie that, in your opinion, deserves a new season or a new sequel.
>Note that our technology in Netflixtech Megacorp Inc. allows to use the likeness of any actor or actress in any point of their careers.

Would be pretty nice desu senpai.
Forget tv, I wanna porn
>>63471029
Well I'd like more movies featuring the guy you posted. However, it's more than just likeness, you'd have to simulate his energy, mannerisms and screen presence as well. And I don't think you can do that.

They could did that right now if they cared ffs

>>63471969
More like the audience never wanted any acting skills and always wanted only a name and a face
And all the animation advancement these last years only enhanced people's belief that animation can do without acting skills
>and voice generation can simulate convincingly any accent, tone and speech pattern
Is voice technology even anywhere near what we can do with visuals? They'd be better off just using an impressionist.
I wonder how are they going to do all the animations? Are they still going to need motion capture for everything?

this was so well done that I didn't even think about it, and I saw the movie already. it just looked like a scene with him from the 80s.
>>63476818
When I watched the movie I assumed the guy sitting down who gets a bloody nose and the older version later on were two different actors. He's the same old guy de-aged just like Douglas. I think that's more impressive, really. You can't look at Douglas and not know they've done something to his face, obvuiously, but the other guy, I had no idea...
Citizen Bane
>>63471029
I hadn't seen this CG Bruce Lee before...
I think the CG Audrey Hepburn looks better, but then, they're trying to do much less with her face.

I've seen this hundreds of times and I never even realised it was CGI. I figured it was just someone who looked kind of like her with a thousand layers of makeup and editing. That's impressive.

>>63478051
Photorealistic cgi has already been achieved for years now. There are at least still images out there that will fool you somewhere anon.
I think the problem is convincingly modelling the physics of movement and having the processing power to do it.
Physical modelling of all the structures in the human face necessary to describe all the nuance of expression... good luck smart people.

>>63478845
Processing power is not the determining factor, I mean you only have to render it once. If you don't have enough processing power then it's just gonna take more time, but it's still doable. The original Toy Story took 2-15 hours to render every frame, and there were 114,240 frames in the movie.
The aliens in Edge of Tomorrow were made of this writhing obsidian-spaghetti stuff that nobody had really tried before. It took like 20x longer to render those monsters than if they had just normal hi-res 3D models for thems, so the animators for EoT had to program their own spaghetti-monster plugin for Maya in order to render it at an acceptable speed.
When the age of the waifu comes im going to get one of each of these.
The mouth still gives it away every time. Avatar is still the only CGI I've seen where the mouth movement doesn't look totally weird. I guess Davy Jones as well, but the less human it is the easier it is to be fooled.
Superman Lives
>>63478976
I was about to say that idea but pulled back because I thought the two movies were enough...but now that you mention that you could totally work a premise up where both versions of bill and ted have to do a thing to save the world.
