Yes, the force is used for knowledge and defense, never to attack, so if Vader got the jump on Yoda somehow he could physically overpower him for sure. Yoda would have seen it coming probably weeks previously though so I doubt you could really sneak up on him.

How was Luke able to become a Jedi master after a few months or a couple of years training at most? That always annoys me, it completely undermines the ideas of devotion, patience and understanding that are supposed to be central to learning the ways of the force. It also makes the other force using characters look pathetic in comparison, as they've all been training for years, decades or centuries.

He wasn't a jedi master in RotJ. I don't know if he was really that powerful at all. His main accomplishment is pummeling a eighty year old man into submission, and being electrocuted by Sheev.
While Vader was a dangerous combatant, his main advantage came from raw strength due to his robotic limbs. His control of the force was weakened due to him losing so much of his body (nothing to do with midichlorians, he was just a mess physically and mentally).
Most of his great battles were exadurated by the Emperor to inspire fear. The Emperor hated Vader due to how weak and troubled he'd become, his suit was too old and essential to upgrade, his limbs were slow and heavy, and he was in constant pain and discomfort due to the pressure suit and cybernetic implants that kept him alive.
He spend most of his time in that chamber, where we could remove his helmet and limbs and just be alone.
EU Vader is such a tragic character.

Yoda only lost to Dooku because he was distracted by the fight when Dooku used the unconscious Anakin to get an upper hand. Because Anakin had JUST LOST to Dooku. So yeah, Anakin killed Dooku in the end, but he lost two him twice before. Yoda was dealing with him just fine before he had to save Anakin's life.

In ESB, it was imperative that luke finished his training with yoda. If luke didn't finish his training, he could be tempted by the dark side as an easy and fast route to force mastery.
In ROTJ, luke is wizard levels from the start, returns to yoda to finish his training, yoda tells him to fuck off, dies, and exits the plot so we can get back to the action set pieces.
But ultimately the most impressive thing he accomplished was beating vader, but he used the dark side to do that, and it's implied vader lost because he was old. Then luke realizes he's a replacement for vader because he has youth.
