Thing is he really liked Death in Heaven whereas I mostly didn't. He also thought the freefall scene of 12 into the TARDIS in that was 'thrilling, audacious, and epic', I remember him bigging it up before the episode aired. I thought that bit was silly and forgettable. I don't think I can take his word on an episode's quality too seriously since his taste is pretty different from mine. I usually stay quiet, but all these bullshit spoilers are driving me up the wall, so I'll do a little talking...but I'm NOT going to give away any major reveals. It isn't worth the risk, and you'll enjoy Heaven Sent more if you don't know what's coming.1) Nobody has seen Hell Bent yet. Or, at least, nobody in the reviewing scene. There are mutterings that only the big names (e.g: Radio Times) are going to get to see it. I write for a medium-ish blog, so if the rumours are true, it's likely I'll be watching it for the first time when everyone else does.2) Review copies of Heaven Sent have a few minutes cut off the end. Frankly, I don't know why they bothered – it's quite obviously the Gallifrey reveal, which they've already spoiled via the BBC Media Centre. I guess departments don't communicate with one another.3) Although it is not mentioned on the web page that tells us what we can/can't talk about, I strongly suspect that our review copies also had a chunk taken out of the middle. I've watched it three times, now, and one scene just cuts into another in a way that feels unfinished, and a bit nonsensical. It leaves you scratching your head, anyway.4) Weeping Angels cameo, but we all saw that coming. They're used similarly to how they're used in The God Complex. They're not integral to the plot or anything.5) As far as I can tell, there's no Clara in Hell Bent whatsoever. But, like I say, bits were cut...so who knows?
It is a genuinely entertaining episode. Capaldi gives a strong, convincing, multi-faceted performance. All of this said, though, it is essentially a filler episode. That doesn't mean it's not good, but it is just there to fill a time slot.

Fun fact: It's perfectly legal to sell these discs after the episode has aired. Same applies to advance copies of music albums, as well. If you keep an eye on eBay, you'll occasionally see them pop up. They usually fetch a lot of money, but most reviewers keep them.
