From a story point I can get why they added in the "new cycle" stuff, I never expected the show to end with the thirteenth Doctor. One thing I don't understand is the Twelfth Doctor's reluctance to help people this series. We saw it again in Face the Raven, when the Doctor informs Rigsy that he's going to die, and Clara has to talk the Doctor into doing something. Where is this coming from? I don't see how it follows from anything that happened last series, unlike the Eleventh Doctor's depression in The Snowmen.
