This episode is the perfect example of bad writing and falling in love with your own creation from yesteryear.
What made this show great was that it was actually believable, sure it exaggerated certain parts, but as someone living in London there was actually a degree of familiarity about it.

Channel 4 went very PC earlier this year. They are forcing their shows to have a certain amount of races, genders and sexualities. It's pretty clear that they have gotten their hands on Peep Show. Hans is married to a Black Woman and Jez is now a homosexual.
First half was immaculate, felt like Peep Show, was funny especially when they were in the car. The webcam thing seemed stupid at first but then was quite funny (maybe used too much time).

Peep Show has always been very PC but has pushed the boundaries for what is accepted in mainstream media. If you pay attention even the early series have clear politically correct motives, but then lots of good humour and cringe situations too.
In the latest series I feel the balance is not right. They have made the show seem slightly unrealistic with their social justice narratives. In earlier seasons the whole tolerance, acceptance and other bullshit including politics was not so prominent.
Jeremy tells Mark about the gay sex, and the only issue Mark has is the temperature and room. At first glance you think this is Mark being insane and autistic, but then you see it is actually a way of normalising homosexuality. I'm not saying being gay is bad, it just doesn't make for a funny scene.
