So, /tv/, what are your predictions of where they'll go with the storyline in the following episodes?
Have any notable or unusually legit speculations or theories surfaced yet?
I don't care for theories floating around out there but here's some of my thoughts:
Kylo Ren has been humiliated and got his face mangled, so he'll be more psychotic and menacing in the sequels. It wouldn't do justice to Han Solo's sacrifice and the legacy of Darth Vader if Kylo Ren isn't redeemed. Kylo Ren will come back to the light but it will be a bittersweet redemption. He went too far in killing his father and his relationship with Leia will be analogous to mothers who visit their sons in prison.
My guess is that Kylo will be a villain up until the very end, and then help the good guys at the last second to save the galaxy from Snoke.
They cannot go bigger with the superweapons. Maybe they'll come up with some universe destroying bullshit weapon but that would be too much even for Star Wars. They'll likely raise the stakes by exploring the Dark Side and shifting the focus of the plot from Rebels vs. Empire to Jedi vs. Sith. Luke Skywalker was brought back into the story at the end of the Episode 7 and Snoke is a card that hasn't been played yet, so that conflict will be the focus of episodes 8 and 9.
Rey's backstory will be revealed in the sequels. We saw in the flashbacks that she has some connection to the massacre of Luke's students at the hands of Kylo Ren. Maybe she's the daughter of a pair of older students and she was moved to Jakku after the massacre. This theory is wonky because of the math involved (Kylo would need to have turned to the Dark Side at a very young age and be in his late 20s or early 30s by episode 7), but it would explain why Rey is force-sensitive and why some characters seem to have an idea of who she is.
I don't know why a good guy would hide her on Jakku, there must be decent space orphanages in the galaxy. Tatooine wasn't nearly as bad as Jakku and Luke was put there with family. Maybe Kylo put her there because he was too much of a wimp to finish what he had started?

Kylo Ren and Rey will be under training under Snoke and Luke respectively, both physically, in the Force and some philosophical shit. Luke will reveal to Rey she is his daughter but had to be hidden for some bullshit reason. The Resistance will be refitted as a semi-autonomous task-force in the now all-out war between the Republic and the First Order. Poe as a pilot and Finn as a ground soldier will prove to be great assets but still unsufficient in regards to their ennemies trump cards : the 6 other knights of Ren. Some First Order. A big battle is in preparation, and Luke and Rey join the Republican fleet to strike at the FO flagship on which are Snoke and Kylo Ren. The Knights of Ren are no match for the Jedi. Snoke will reveal himself as previously known as Darth Plagueis, but he rejected his title after being betrayed by his apprentice who claimed his creation : Anakin Skywalker, the Chosen One.

The battle is in fact a trap, Snoke kills Luke and the Republican flagship where Leia was is blown up. Snoke also manadge to betray Kylo Ren somehow, and state that what he couldn't do with Anakin, he will do with his grandchildren, both as strong as him in the Force, one in the light and the other in the dark. Everything turns to shit for all parties involved except Snoke, both Rey and Kylo have to escape. In Episode 9 Kylo Ren and Rey have to make an uneasy alliance to hunt down and destroy Snoke/Plagueis, who is now in the search of the first Jedi Temple as Luke was previously. In there they discover that the prophecy about the Chosen One was distorted by time : The Chosen One never was supposed to bring balance to the Force. The Chosen One IS the imbalance in the Force, and they inherited that curse. Snoke shows up, Kylo Ren and Rey kills him, putting an end to their truce. They fight their last duel, knowing or at least thinking the winner will bring a lasting peace to the galaxy. Rey and Kylo Ren are now equally match, and end up killing each other, bringing an end to the Skywalker bloodline, and balance to the Force.
Lando will show up in the next movie, as will more of the Knights of Ren.
Snookums will be killed in Episode IX. Or VIII, to shake things up, and Hux will take command.

No way to guess the plot, they'll find a new McGuffin for characters to fight over. I don't think it well be a new superweapon, that would be dumb.
Rey will probably go dark side a little and be a "grey" force user. The point they'll make is "a little dark side gets shit done".
Kylo will keep being dark side. I don't expect a switcheroo from him until IX.
It will end with a First Order victory, with the heroes in desperate times.
Rey will teach Luke how to use the force as good as her. Finn gets to be a Jedi. Kylo turns good and Rey turns evil.

Rey teach luke how to use the force like her, luke becomes the apprentice and Rey the Jedi Master. She also then turns into a force ghost by her own force brain and turns herself into a force arrow of light that flies across the galaxy ridding all evil.
Episode 9 is where they all head to naboo for a massive orgy. Finn and poe finally get it on and both of them penetrative each other using the force . The ending scene is rey spraying her gash juice all offer jar Jar binks, he turns to the camera and says

end credits. What an ebin adventure :^)
Episode IX:
They starts building a new Starkiller, even more powerful than the last. The Resistance must destroy it, obviously. Rey confronts Snoke. Kylo Ren breaks free from the dark side and kills Snoke, but dies from injuries.

Benicio Del Toro will be the creepy new chancellor of the republic. Both the republic AND First Order will be villains in the coming movies. They're both destroyed by the end of the trilogy.
