Because it would be too perfect. They have would have good chemistry together, provide both an excellent amount of conflict and cooperation together. They both holds traits that the other admires and would be willing to invest themselves for. Pearl obviously has a thing for big strong gems with lots of hair and lots of confidence to tell her what to do. Jasper offers her a chance to get over her adoration of Rose and become affectionate with someone else while keeping with her personal tastes and character. Jasper likewise takes pride in personal strength and achievement, her distaste for fusion and opinion of it as a cheap trick to cheat power but her personal respect for powerful leaders and warriors who have proven themselves (Including herself). While initially dismissive of Pearl, the concept of a "Servant" who has overcome her destined place and become a powerful skilled warrior would definitely attract her attention, once she sees that Pearl is strong in the real way they would have a strong connection.
The ship is literally too perfect, there is no chance that Becky Sucrose and the Cartoon Network gang are clever enough to have written something like this and be willing to implement it. They flew too close to the sun and the OTP is too perfect for this world.

And if Pearl isn't teal, then since there are no real rules you can argue she's white and off the chart and is destined for independence (and also exclude Rose since she's deceased and all). We've also never seen a fusion happen in such dire/deceitful/vengeful circumstances before Malachite. Ruby and Sapphire had a positive little connection going on before Ruby's act of altruism resulted in their fusion. Garnet aesthetics were like a mish-mash and maybe even representing a different type of garnet as you said.
If their overall positive fusion can result in something a little uncertain or mixed-up, then I think a much more negative fusion can vary even more greatly from the intended/positive form.
