The thing I thought was weaker about the first piece was how it felt like it was doing too many things with its tone: the final version keeps a steady tone throughout, which makes it stronger. There were lines that emphasized a lot of the emotional connection and conflict between the two characters, as well as some subtle nods ideas presented earlier (specifically lines about Nick holding onto Judy as if he were drowning and gasping for air). It also helped focus more on some of the finer details that give more character building moments-- Nick's joke about taking it slow after his breakdown, for instance.
Its a fantastic piece of writing, and I look forward to reading more of your work!

I really do like to draw or even doodle from time to time. I do my best to be diligent and to keep drawing, but I beat myself up a lot whenever I mess up anything, not just art. It must be my special trait huh? I hate to admit this, but seriously, the thing I'm worried about is obscurity. I want people to know me and remember me. I don't think there has even been an artist/author who didn't get mad and throw away what they were working on. I deleted entire stories, like 10k words, because of errors I found. I eventually reposted it after a few days. It happens, mostly when you're getting used to the process, I think. I didn't write for a couple of years because I just didn't have the time, I kept having ideas but they never went anywhere without the time.
I think a good idea is to take notes, either on your phone or in a notepad. If you just a few minutes; waiting for someone, riding somewhere, just think about a story; it could be a concept, an archetype. It doesn't matter, just think about a plot or characters or a setting or theming. Don't pigeonhole yourself either, it does not have to be Zootopia, it doesn't have to be a fic. Just work on the skills.
Another idea. Think about a tv show you don't like; why don't you like it? The characters, the lines, the tone, what would it need to be better? This works better with things that are close to being good. By breaking things down, you learn how they work; if you see where they fail, you can learn from it.

I'm not even an artist and I know every single one of these feels. I hope to one day be an indie vidya dev, if only to show that you can be one and not be a huge cunt at the same time. But ultimately, I (and you) have to create for our own sake. Seeking renown is perfectly fine, but you can't let it be completely tied to your artistic expression. First you learn to draw well, then you worry about fame.
Yeah it sucks that these things we love will eventually fade away, but I'm afraid that's just part of pop culture. I mean, there's a million other things you love which are already "lost", aren't there? And believe me, I too have a million ideas for Zootopia pics that will never see the light of day, because I'm too unmotivated to learn how to draw. We've got two Swintons. We've got Mead's Swinton, who is a powerhungry corrupt mayor who is Chief Wilde's main antagonist in the JHY.
Then we've got Weaver's Swinton, a much more earnest, honest, competent politician that's nominally related to the Pack Street stories. She's also T H I C C, and keeps getting herself into accidentally lewd situations.
While they're TECHNICALLY the same character (since they're based off of ProtoZootopia's mayor), they're completely different interpretations of her.
