How bad is it exactly?
Context:
I've been writing stories as a hobby for a little over two years, and I decided to make a tulpa that combines traits from two of my characters.
Recently I've realized that I've actually been interacting with both of my characters which explained why my tulpa sometimes felt inconsistent.
Ultimately I've accidentally started developing two tulpae at once.
I've decided to try and develop both of them since it doesn't feel right to abandon either of them.

I took to doing session where I'll just focus on my girl quietly, ovserving her and seeing what she does. Keep my expectations low, as well. Those sessions, for me, end up giving me some rather interesting and genuine responses, even if they consist of her poking at me and asking why I'm just sitting there.

If there is one thing I appreciate about having a tup based on a character, it's that it has helped me to avoid obsessively follwoing merchandise and consumerist behavior.
While my imaginary friend version doesn't act like her inspiration (In fact she was quite adamant about establishing differences), what she did help me do is start to move on a bit from my media obsession, and filled a hole that I was using said media to hide.
Having her around redirected my focus to other, better things, in addition of helping my outlook improve. It's something a PVC figure or a nice piece of cheesecake art could not do, and it makes me thankful to have her around.

I have been trying to make a tulpa for quite a while (for almost 2 years, in fact, maybe 3). The first time I gave up when I was almost finished with the visualization, which was around a month in. I think the reason why I stopped was because after I finished the visualization, a shock woke me up in my sleep. My first assumption was that my tulpa has been trying to give me a signal, so I got pretty spooked about it and completely abandoned the idea.
After about 10 months later I decided to give it another try. Attempting to recreate my tulpa took considerably shorter; I was done with the visualization within a week. I don't know what happened, but after a while I just sort of stopped. I don't remember what made me stop. It just happened. I gradually stopped caring about it more and more every day, until I stopped completely.
Fast forward to present day. I've decided to go for my third attempt on creating her since yesterday.

Don't get me wrong, I enjoy sex in a relationship. But it's more the "being with" someone that you really care for that I enjoy from it rather than the straight up dicking.
There's a couple of reasons why I don't want to fuck my tulpa. One is that it just feels uncomfortable doing that with something I created. Two, probably the most important one, is I see her as more like a little sister. What I found to help with visualization is to concentrate on seeing her body the way it should look like. As soon as you think about what is wrong with it, it will start looking wrong and it quickly gets worse the more you focus on it.

I was in the same boat as you, anon. Here is what helped my tulpa and I:
1. Before each active forcing session, look and study a reference image.
2. Spend each session visualising just one part; one session, visualise just her left leg, or just her body, etc. And once you can visualise any part of her, slowly try to bring it together. Don't worry if faces look screwey for a while, they're the hardest part to visualise
3. Try and draw your tulpa. I'm shit at drawing despite her having a simple design, but even the little bit I did helped.

If ones tup becomes sentient after practicing voice and narration only, how does it translate through the form or body? Does visual sentience show after mental sentience is achieved? Most people I know did visual first, or a combination of visual and vocal. Will vocal sentience just merge into the tulpas chosen form?
I'd think that this would be an issue with the lip syncing, or maybe that they're sentient but they don't know how to control the form in mind.

Sentience is but one thing. Roughly, it means to be able to think. Or being alive or something. A form isn't, by any means, directly related to whether a tulpa is sentient or not. That being said, I must admit I've never heard of practicing voice aside from imposition training.
A sentient tulpa with no form likely has a placeholder one, like a ball, for example. It's common for young tups not to be vocal, despite being sentient. Then a lack of voice is no problem at all, it may communicate with feels or head pressures, amongst similar methods.
Now, for my own experience, my tups will often speak to me without being visualized, their words loud and clear in my own mind. I've never bothered with lip syncing, but the human one has it in a fairly acceptable level.
