Hell, I might be partially at fault. I sent the guy a big critique about the whole story and he basically admitted that he hated what he had written and at that point he was only still doing it because he felt an obligation to finish it even though he felt it was negatively impacting his other actually professional work. He basically said he was done, and then like a day or 2 after that the chapter thing on AO3 said it was finished.
So yeah, basically its a huge trainwreck starting with the bogo scene.
Also spoilers, Bogo goes completely insane, is a religious zealot, and forms basically a nazi regime to create a master race that somehow gets its hands on Nukes

Lexapro will treat you kind. The fact you're noticing those negative feelings falling away means the stuff is working. When they're working correctly, you don't feel any different, you just feel normal. You're able to separate the irrational emotions from the natural ones.
I'm happy for you on this: you've got such an incredible future ahead of you and by getting on these issues now you're setting yourself up for success.

I had black spells of depression, followed by these impossible cocaine-like highs. There was no baseline. It was either wanting to die or feeling like I could do anything.
Once the meds started working, I noticed that I wasn't having black spells like before, nor was I having spells where I felt like Superman on meth. Shit got level for me. Then, the regular emotions started coming through: happiness with my wife and sadness when something bad happened. The peaks and valleys leveled off and everything is just smooth now.
That's what "normal" feels like to me.

Anti-depressants are really a catch-all for a lot of different conditions. Are you still having "Black Spells" or feelings of intense self-loathing? That's not normal. If you're still feeling those emotions, you're probably on the wrong meds.

Coming off psych meds cold-turkey is a BAD thing. People have killed themselves because they couldn't handle the feelings that well up. The "Zombie" feeling is a really common reaction tho.

Well, yes and no. On one hand its helped me get a new perspective on my problems. But therapy itself isn't enough to make me happy. The thing that sucks I still gotta make the changes in my life to fix it. Therapy has just helped me see what changes I can make.
The problem is change is fucking hard. And scary.
Its wierd, and I doubt everyone would understand, but sometimes its much easier to stay in a sucky situation than take the steps to make it better.
Like I had a shitty relationship with my older brother growing up. He bullied me for most the years he was still at home. Now days whenever I see him, usually during holidays, he doesn't really do that but he certainly hasn't apologized or tried to make amends for it.
I resent him for that, and my therapist said I should consider talking to him about it.
But I dunno, the thought of making up is scary. And its not just that the idea that it could fail is scary.
The scariest thought is that we might actually make up. I don't even know what I'd do with that.
